Getting impatient with seller
A few weeks ago I bought a TW driveshaft (single/double) for 5.5" of lift. Got a deal on it and it's the first piece in my 5.5" setup I'm slowly building up. So first bad thing is it takes the seller a week to ship it. No biggie, I'm not in a hurry to get it and I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. So finally I get it a good 7 or 8 bussiness days later. Check it out, seems pretty nice, in good condition. No damage I can tell just looking at it holding it in my hands.
So I drop my current DS and go to put this one it. Got it in and the bolts snugged down and go to turn it with my hand and I see a disaster. The inside U joint in the double cardon section is toast. It's broken and the DS has a ton of play in it. Great
So I let the seller know and now they seem to be avoiding this situation, I'll get emails but they aren't ready to refund my money (they're still making up their mind) I'm even offering to ship it back on my dime yet they seem to pretend this situation doesn't exist.
If the seller is out there, please chime in as you have avoided my last 3 emails, you know who you are.
So right now, I've got an expensive Tom Wood door stop in my garage

Did you write him back excercising the many wonderous ways to use "****?" (The "F" word). LOL
Hope it works out ... was it listed "as-is" or in working shape?

so why don't you just replace the u-joint? If this is a used shaft, you should have checked it out before installing it.

If you got a good deal on it why not just swap the joint and move on? It would probably cost less than shipping it back and it would avoid having to spend more $$ on another shaft.

Never swapped a U joint before, let alone the one inside the double cardon section. Last Thing I want to do is mess something up then be totally SOL.

You better learn quick. What if you break a joint out on the trail?

Its not hard, theres probably even write ups on how to rebuild a dual cardon shaft on here. Its something you need to know how to fix if your going to wheel it anyways. I would be pissed to if they said it was in good condition but if they said as is theres really nothing you can do. You can have a drive shaft shop rebuid it pretty cheap as well, probably only a little more then the cost you would eat in shipping it twice anyways.

How to change a u-joint.
1:Remove driveshaft from vehicle
2:Remove U Joint
3:Install New U joint (5 bucks or something from kragen?)
4:Install Driveshaft.

Seller should have been more detailed in his sale. Kinda sucks, make sure you comment when you give him a i-trader rating.

I hate dishonest sellers or sellers that don't respond...I take everything I sell online very seriously, if someone has a problem with what I wrote in the description then I take it back and reimburse them for the shipping too. I've only had to do that once, but it is my policy. Some people though just want to make a quick buck.
I also try to write down every little ding, nick or scratch on items so there are no surprises when people get them...I think that helps a lot. His description DID suck.
Next time if they don't have a good description ask them if there is anything wrong with it. If it is really low priced ask them why...because there must be something broken, missing, cracked etc.
Hope you get this settled!

the seller was not dishonest, and doing the underlined part would have helped,
OP this is on you not the seller, you didnt ask if all the u-joints are good, so buy a <$20 part and stop complaining cause you didnt cover your ***
