Is it bad the gas station attendant know my name and says "see you soon"?

That would be normal, considering you live in the communist state of Oregon where you can't pump your own gas...

Ya you have it made in NV. But there's nothing wrong with Oregon, just a large portion of the people who live here. Haha

All a guy driving a Jeep can do is to smile.

And wow, still can't pump your own gas? That is amazing.

Depends on the state I know in NJ it is illegal for you to pump your own gas.

Really? No self serve gas stations in OR?
I was working at a full service gas station when we started doing self service....I think that was about 1979 or so....
Not to say you're behind the times or anything...

Nope it's illegal to pump your own gas... It can be very annoying... Haha I guess we're just not smart enough up here to handle a fuel pump on our own

You can fuel up your own motorcycle in OR, but the laws are just carried over from the full-service days when all states had them. For whatever reason, NJ and OR decided to keep it going (and probably think you are too stupid to not blow up gas stations.)

When I was a bouncer at a college bar back in Baltimore md Saturday night was college night for Loyola college. Majority of that schools students are from NJ. To be honest it's probably a good thing they can't pump their own gas most of the girls were not too bright before they start drinking.

Its a bad thing when someone else is touching your vehicle on a simple job such as fueling up . If a gas station wouldn't let me pump my own fuel not only would i be insulted i also would not provide them any business of mine and would be out of the area/state asap

The only thing they're touching is the fuel door and the cap; on some vehicles they won't have to touch either. Overreact much?

I don't think it's that big of a deal as it provides a lot of jobs and it's nice to be able to sit in your warm vehicle while the other guy does all of the work. If we had full service stations around here, I'd probably go there all of the time.
