Fogging up gas mask help

I bought a Russian PMK gas mask for a Halloween costume last year. Inside was hot as I thought it would be so no big deal. When I went outside or into a dance club the Glass lens fogged up. What can I use to keep the lens's from fogging up without ruining the mask or its ability to be used as a gas mask if so needed?

Here is the mask I bought and with it in costume

Go to your local dive shop and pico up some anti fog spray. A local ski shop should have it too. Do you have a filter for your mask? If it has been open for more than 30 days its useless.

Also, if you are fogging up, I would suspect someplace isn't sealing right.

Thanks for the tips. I have never opened the filter or have installed it on the mask. I thought it would be easy to breath without it and not waste a filter. I thought it was fogging due to the temp being colder or hotter than the other side of the glass lens. It also does not help when I am dancing and breathing hard thru my mouth. My Nose is closed most of the time from allergies.

I thought about using my paintball mask so I would not have a fogging problem and I could eat and drink. However I am not sure what mask looks better. what do you guys think?

Also, are you sure that filter doesn't have asbestos? I thought some of the old ones did.

To wear a mask gives one the ability of some anonymity and allows you to be little more free to spirited.
The gas mask is version one of the costume, By switching to my paintball mask I may not have to worry about fogging and be able to eat and drink. I was a death eater from Harry potter a few years back and have one of those mask as well. Halloween is my favorite day of the year. As a child I grew up watching Creature features seeing Frankenstein, The wolf man, The mummy, Creature from the black lagoon. If I had any artistic talent I would be in Hollywood working on horror movies.

As for the filter... the only warning I got was that there may be carbon dust from the filter. If I was to use it as a true gas mask I would just buy new filters.

Another cheap solution would be to rub a little spit on the inside of the lenses. It works for a while but isn't super effective as any kind of long term solution. Then again the cost is super cheap as well.

Don't light the bowl if you don't want the mask fogging up.

frog snot!
It works great on dive masks.

But if you had bought a good US mask you wouldn't have to worry they are valved so the there is an inlet side only and ducted so the inlet side washes the mask with fresh(filtered) air on every breath.

Fog-x. I have some at home if you want to use it, Pete. And for those that said buy the American ones, they fog up too. Plus the imported ones look more menacing. The only time I have been intimidated by a US mask is when they told me to take it off and recite my general orders.

Eyes open; arms flapping!! Haha!
