FLOWMASTER vs CHERRY BOMB VORTEX

Hey everyone, I'm in the market looking for a muffler. Im hearing mixed reviews on products.

1. FLOWMASTER SUPER 50 SUV SERIES
2. CHERRYBOMB VORTEX

I saw a clip on youtube from GEARS and cherrybomb made a comparison with I think is a FLOWMASTER Muffler check out the video.

Wow, interesting video. I wonder who the other was that had the bad air flow when they compared the two....

Looks exactly like a flowmaster. You could just tell by their expressions when they said were not going to show them the name they might get upset!

looks like cherrybomb is making some good stuff. unfortunatley i would never buy a cherrybomb because i had a bad experience 10 years ago with their glasspack. it sounded like crap and didnt last long at all. cherry bombs name kindof depleated in the late 90s and people relate their name with crappy products. this may however not be true anymore.

I agree. they vanished from the street scene. Some company bought them off in 2006 and now there using better quality materials, which gives the product longer life. Back in the days the glasspacks use to fall off after wear and tear plus rust. I think I am going to give them a try. For a Cherry Bomb Vortex 2.5" C/O is only $80. But i found it for $69. Can not go wrong for the price. If I dont like I will take it off. lol

You can buy a stainless steel, heavy gauge, fully welded, Magnaflow muffler for about the same price. And they have a lifetime warranty. The quality is night and day as compared to the Cherry Bomb.

I have had my Cherry bomb vortex mufflers on my 73 cougar since 1999 with my Ceramic coated hooker super comp headers and 2.5" mandrel bent system with H-pipe. The cougar is in Michigan and spends its winters in my brothers barn. The outside cases look relatively untouched from outside elements, just some black paint flaking off, no corrosion. I think they are built better than flowmasters, even the welds on the case look new. I have yet to blow out the glass packing inside. This was my summer DD even in the rain. Sounds just as good if not better than the day i got them. I went to a custom exhaust shop so they were $100 a piece but worth it. Most people think i have flowmasters just from the sound. Go get ya some!
