filming TV show at work today..FNL the tv series

so the Friday Night Lights tv series people decided to do some filming where i work in south austin. they started moving the equipment and a few vehicles in thursday afternoon. the rest of the crew, equipment, and actors rolled in this morning and setup shop. it's kinda neat....just thought i'd share.

roll call was at 3pm this afternoon. they are doing a few scenes here shot in a few different places around the quarry. the main scene is football practice at night in the rain. of course they will start filming that part later tonight. they brought in their 'rain making' stuff and made the field. naturally dug up the ground to lay padding down covered in dirt so the actors don't hurt themselves...hehe. another scene is a dude on a dirt bike jumping a ramp thing, and the other is a guy that is getting pushed over a cliff into our lake. they just did a shotgun scene where some guys were kinda doing a "varsity blues" back of the truck tailgate redneck target practice thing. all the people are really nice...which is good cause they're kinda in the way. there is a chef on site making up some good food for everyone. my buddy and i are hanging around to monitor the property and close up.....more like drive around in the jeep and watch the filming.....when it's over probably sometime around 2am tomorrow.
anyway, just thought i'd share. don't get to see this stuff too much. i'm headin back down there as soon as i can wrap things up and get out of the office. i'll try and get some more pics as the evening progresses...just don't know how much i'll be allowed to take.

for those of you that haven't seen my other thread...wheelin at work, here are some pics of the place i work

the lake end ledge the guy will be falling over

football field is up and to the left of where my jeep is..........and yes, i was stuck there...bad.

Sweet. Maybe one of the producers will accidentally leave one of his burlap sacks with a big green '$' on site somewhere.

haha, not quite. but they did feed us very well.

we had a good time last night. everyone there was really nice. it was just me and my buddy so they didn't mind us hanging around at all. met two characters, Adrianna Palicki (hot)and Taylor Kitsch while they were shooting the 'hitting golf balls, drunk, off the front of his old pickup truck when Adrianna hotness pulls up and they get in an arguement following dude jumping over the ledge into the water'.
my buddy managed to piss off the director which was pretty funny. he was trying to turn off a diesel driven water pump during one of their audio takes and he hit the accellerator instead....pretty funny.
anyway, check for the show this fall.
