marketing. and thats great you have a couple old pairs of shoes, if you are content with them thats fine. personally i like to dress nice and that involves having nice shoes, and if i have to spend money so be it.

Not to mention that anyone who states how he used his parents' credit card to buy $200 shoes needs to be spanked with a belt.

Got hooked on the rap culture? Get real. "Rap culture". Truly an oxymoron. Much like the phrase "ballin shoes" when you're talking about those ugly Fedex shoes.
these shoes wouldnt look so good with the shorts fedex guys wear. and just because you dont like/understand any part of the culture surrounding hip hop and rap music doesnt mean that it doesnt exist.

If it were me, they'd have to be damn nice shoes that make you fly or something before my parents would spend $200 on "kicks" or "ballin shoes".

I just don't understand the people who want to emulate the rap culture and be like the rest of those clowns.
i never stole the money and my parents were the ones to buy the shoes because it is part of my graduation gift, is that so wrong?

Right! I agree! So why do you buy those ugly, disgusting, people-laughing-when-you're-not-paying-attention Fedex shoes?

I think most people know plenty about your so-called "rap culture", because the underlying theme is so simple it's foolish. You'll probably try to deny this, but the whole rap/hip-hop scene is all about attracting attention to yourself. And buddy, that's why you buy $200 shoes that are ugly. It's obvious that it's all about the price tag. Obvious because at Wal-Mart they have $30-40 shoes that are just as ugly (meaning similar to your Fedex shoes, and you like them), but you don't buy those, you go for the big, ugly, $200 jobbers. Why? Because it's all about demonstrating how much money you have, and how frivolously you can afford to spend it. Except you didn't spend it.

Also, I can guarantee that when your parents asked you what you wanted for graduation gift, and you said, "These," and pointed to page whatever in your Eastbay catalog, your parents were disappointed in their son and probably talked about it later.

I hope someone scuffs the hell out of your Big Plums the first day you wear them.

Ben you need to fix your PayPal junk. I've had my billing address in Ohio for the past 6 years, and have still had junk shipped to me all over the east coast since then.

So you think his parents are disappointed in him for graduating college and picking out a gift he likes? I can assure you they care more about him graduating than whatever gift he picks.

Wow, its always sad to see white kids trying to be black. That entire culture is based off of how much money can be spent on the most absurd looking articles of clothing. Do your parents know that the shoes cost $200?

I honestly cant understand why anyone would spend so much on shoes... The most ive ever spent was $106 including tax for a pair of cowboy style boots. I have a high arch and those style boots are the most comfortable ive found. Now i dont wear anything else. Once i wear out the sole, i can get a new sole and heel put on. Can you do that with your fancy purple shoes?
