Was this thread specifically made for me? I love the 80s

Hmm, perhaps my favorite....

Come On Eilleen....Dexys Midnight Runners

Anything by Devo
Anything by the young U2
Anything by the young Red Hot Chili Peppers

Elvis Costello
Jesus And Mary Chain

Tons of stuff off of 120 Minutes.

Old REM

Bananaramma

Holy crap, I can't even start with this thread. I have simply scraped the surface.

I listened to skater music and "new Wave" music in the 80's.

Circle Jerks
Dead Milkmen
Anthrax

Anything up to Disintegration by The Cure
Anything up to Music For the Masses by Depeche Mode
Anything up to Green by REM
Anything up to Joshua Tree by U2
Starfish by The Church
The Smiths
Joy Division
New Order

Literally hundreds of random one hit wonders and bits and pieces songs from various bands. I miss the 80's! Listened to a lot of older southern rock as well as some newer stuff, but the only rock stand bys for me was Pink Floyd.

My first cassette tape... Bananarama.
My first 45... The Cars, "Magic"

I'd add Duran Duran, Dead or Alive, Bryan Adams, INXS, OMD, U2, The Cure, Blenda Carlisle (she was hot, but turned into a wacko), Tears for Fears, Rick Springfield, Heart (the blonde was also hot), A Flock of Seagulls, ZZ Top, The Fixx, Men at Work, Hall and Oats, Def Leppard, Van Halen, Billy Idol, Rat, Cinderella, Cheap Trick, Foreigner, B-52's, UB40, Roxette, Pet Shop Boys, a-Ha, Animotion, The Outfield, Robert Palmer, New Order, Human League, Informaiton Society, L.A. Guns... and more.... I am an 80's junkie...

there was, but only if you lived through it and searched for it. Some of the "hair bands" were pretty damn good (some sucked), RATT, Warrant, Skid Row, Damn Yankees, even Winger (people laugh at that one but they had some great tunage) some of these bands put out some really good music. There was also the beginning of Ozzy Osbourne (solo) and Metallica thrown in there, more mellow artists like U2 and REM, and other good bands like Judas Priest and AC/DC

Metallica (listening to Kill 'Em All right now)
Anthrax
Boston
AC/DC
Cinderella
Megadeth
Guns 'N Roses
Dio
Scorpions
Iron Maiden
Ozzy
Very old Pantera, and very old Soundgarden

A bunch of other stuff, thats just what immediatly pops into my head.. Like some of the others have said, alot of the hairbands.. Yes, some sucked, but the majority either had a *****in vocalist, or a *****in rest of the band.. I dont really listen to pop, or alternative(ish) or softer rock, or rap or anything.. I like straight rock and metal as long as it has talent. I was also born towards the end of the 80's, so I really dont remember any of this when I was that young.. but its some of the best music I listen to now compared to the pure crap thats out now.

Anything from Judas Priest or Iron Maiden. Metallica up to "Justice". Screw the poser bands like Crue and Skid Row.
