if by decent then you mean around 100k miles then yes. if you want one in good condition with lower miles then you will pay out the ***

1996-1998 Mustang Cobra, hands down.

Great looks, killer brakes in stock form, handle well with just a spring swap.

305hp DOHC 4.6 that spins almost 7k RPM.

Respond well to mods, they like nitrous, and oh my gawd the sound they make with just a little exhaust work...

Plus their prices are down around $6500-8500 depending on year and mileage.

Want to spend a little less?

94/95 GT or Cobra. They handle better than the Fox Bodies but still have the 5.0... heads/cam/intake and some bolt ons and you are hauling ***. Fun cars to drive also. They dont handle half bad either.

If you had the VR4 w/ upgraded Twin turbos, active areo, AWD, AWS nothing could touch you. Possible w/ 10k

3000GT's are dead sexy too, the chicks love them.
The base in Excellent cond. Sold in March for $5300 I bought it for $5500 4yrs ago.
I miss mine everyday, when i sold it i cried for 2 days.
My father in law died about a year ago, and my wife inherited his 1993 3000gt VR4. It only has 47k miles, and looks pristine. I haven't decided what to do with it yet. I haven't even driven it yet. From my research, it's worth about 10k.

wow...Idk what to say after follwing up on a 3000GT..they're beasts... a mustang or camaro is fun to throw around in my opinion, easier to find...stay away from a '96 GT...first year of the 4.6...they arent so hott.
if I was gonna but another car I'd say an 01-02 mustang GT

4th Gen F-body. Am I partial? Yes. Is it your best bet? Quite possibly. They are in the best shape of any other thing people have mentioned in this thread. My 2000 Camaro has 65,000 miles on it. No body damage, dents, scratches. For a V6, I'd say its pretty fast. I may trade it for an LS1 f-body next year though. LS1=god when it comes to affordable engines.

Its worth quite a bit more than 10K, i remember seeing VR4's for sale a few years back around 15-20K...and i am pretty certain they are only going up in value if it is stock and well kept.

Never made a 97.

Look into an 89-95 Taurus SHO. Sleeper of a car, they are.

76 nova -900 then a 572 gm crate motor for about 12-13000 might be a little over budget but it will make about 650 horses and 750 ft/lbs and be fast as hell, until it twists the entire car in half

If you had 20 grand i would say go after a 3kgt Spyder VR4

or if you want a sleeper.
Galant VR4 (cough, cough the first EVO) they were crap (due to abuse) but you can find a good one. You can find them for $2k and have plenty of mod money. 1992 and above had the same or similar engine to the 3000GT VR4.

Sorry to hear that.

Your 3kgt VR4 w/ 47k miles is worth over $18,000.00 w/ that mileage you have a collectors car. If you are curious as to how much its worth today. Go to www.3si.org and start a "Whats it worth thread"

I would suggest to hold on to it for 10 more years. And put 0 miles on it. These are going to be the MUST HAVE , Import muscle cars.

Yes they are heavy!, But so were 454 Chevelles. The only drawback i found for 3kgts are the price of parts. OUCH! 1 set of headers for my car was $1600. Ebay helped me out for other stuff. Alot cheaper there.
