1972 Dodge Dart Swinger 340. I would be paying $400/yr on it, and it'll do 12s while getting you 22mpg. Plus, it's not a Ferd

or if you want blue oval, go with a 98 probe and mod the drivetrain. Fast as all hell.

Nah, my point was modding a probe.. Why? Haha..

No offense, I've never been a fan of them.. Maybe its the name? Or the fact that they are FWD..

My apologies.. I'm not a huge fan of FWD cars..

One of my neighbors had a Probe and would always talk **** to me when I owned my MR2 Spyder, said he could beat it at any race, but would never want to prove it (It wasn't the v6 GT model).

I just never understood how they almost replaced the mustang with the probe..

Bingo! I JUST picked up a NICE Spyder GS-T for a couple grand that just needed a new turbo. New turbo and it will be pushing 300HP with supporting mods all for around $4k. Not to mention its a convertible and gets over 20MPG

One word: Crankwalk...especially on a six bolt engine. I like these cars, owned one, but I won't again.

I thought the 7-bolts were the one with crank walk and the 6-bolts were in the 1st Gens that were good? Could be wrong..

3000GT VR4s are too heavy in my opinion to have any real fun in.. I've ridden in one.. It's like being in a yacht..

that and one would have a hard time finding one in good shape for a decent price.

you can make anything fast, just depends what tools you have available, who you know to help and your skill level. Some of the fastest cars ive seen have been custom built. how bought a ls1 volvo station wagon ? http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Twin-Turbo-LS1-Volvo-740-Wagon-500-hp--only-7-l_84833.htm

if an engine swap isnt out of your skill range then think about picking up a small pickup like an older s-10. you can pick up ones up for $500-1500 then toss in chevy 5.3 / 6.0 that you can get all day long on ebay for $2000-3000. $500-600 for v8 swap kit... add some sway bars, upgraded a-arms in the front with coil overs and 4 link the rear with coil overs instead of leaf springs. Add some wide sticky tires and with a very good power to weight ratio, coil suspension all around it will handle great and be real fun to drive.

after watching that volvo clip, i started wondering what kind of power can you make out of stock volvo motors? i have always liked the looks of the boxy volvos...and talk about a sleeper. how is the aftermarket support for them?
