Don't get upset. You brought your story to us, we didn't force it out of you. YOU failed to set up your remote start system correctly. YOU failed to check the system's integrity after someone else worked on your vehicle. YOU undertook all liability when you installed that aftermarket system in your vehicle. Now YOU will be the one to pay for it. That's how it goes.

I think you should have wired up a safety switch, but that's just me.

Actually, it was the Model T that had a hand crank. It was the Model A that first had the electric starter. The letters throw a lot of people off. The Model T came before the Model A. And that concludes your worthless trivia of the day.

As far as the remote start, I would of had the safety devices set up and if not I would never use it unless I was the last person to park it. I'm not sure if a properly adjusted parking brake would be enough to hold back the torque of the starter in rev or 1st. Anyone care to give it a try and post up?

Sucks about your Jeep being damaged though.

Best advice I can give is to count your losses and move on.
Just be thankful the telephone pole stopped your car rather then letting it roll into traffic or something worse.

you make me sick, why dont you go sue your self for being stupid and hope you win, then ask the judge to give you the death penalty

I just got done reading the procrastination thread. I was going to post something here about a safety switch, but I'll do it later.

I have news for you - WTB ads go in the WTB section, not here.

Which is why my WTB ad went in the WTB section. My amusing narrative on the other hand, which incidentally comes with a shameless plug for my WTB ad, goes here.

I agree. Unless you have a good relationship with the guy, that is why they have insurance. When I managed a TLE at Wally I replaced a lot of less than worthy parts because of my techs negligence or assumed negligence,

Any one that thinks this mechanic is at fault is a f***ing moron. did the OP tell the mechanic how to park the vehicle? did the mechanic even know that there was a remote starter? did he know that some hack put it in without a kill switch.

don't try to blame stuff on mechanics just because you are a moron
