I think that all remote starts should come with a switch inside the vehicle. As a security feature, it should require a key to be used to activate it. So once you insert your key and activate it, only then would the remote start work. It's a perfect idea.

Ok this is the basics of what I have read. OP made a mistake posted it as a warning and got burned for it. Happens. Some moron came on saying to park all stick shift trans. like a air brake equipped truck
Robb99 has decided to install an ignition switch on top of a remote starter to defeat said starter Oh and a "parking brake" becomes an "emergency brake" the minute your hydraulic brakes quit working. If your not a moron and pull up slowly on the brake then you can stop just fine ( actually drove a car for a week on just the handbrake since my master cylinder was hard to get ) And a properly ajusted E-brake will stop a vehicle from starting. Aslong as its tight. I will take my chances on my starter solenoid failing ( so rare ) and starting the jeep than the hand brake ( with its maybe I'll hold it here cog ) from popping back down. Must say, it was an interesting read ![]()
