Drunk Drivers

My brother-in-law works for a local police department in the San diego area. He called my wife today to tell her that he was in an accident last night while at work. He was rear ended by a drunk driver. Then the female driver had the audacity to get out of her car and begin to yell at him becasue he was in her way.

Needless to say she won't be getting out of jail anytime soon.

Brother-in-law is ok. He went to the hospital and was released. He was not injured. Just the usuall soreness. He wanted to go back to work but the Dr. wouldn't let him.

Glad to hear he's ok and she gets what's coming to her

Some ******* here decided he didn't want to wait behind a couple of cyclists descending a canyon road so he pulled around them and then slammed on his brakes, one guy ended up going through his rear window and was hospitalized, other guy was just banged up.

Best part? The guy driving the car was a ****ing doctor - fortunately he was stupid enough to tell police at the scene he did it "to teach them a lesson".

What gets me is all the "well they probably deserved it, they were going way too fast" posts to comment on the story at the LA Times - if they were going way too fast, just how fast did this idiot have to go to pass them?

A drunk driver nearly killed a fellow motorcycle rider here in San Diego. He is a Border Patrol Agent. Here is the blog spot, http://lukedithrich.blogspot.com/

Wow that sucks, i would have gotten out of the cruiser and slammed her onto the hood away from the dash cam. Glad to hear he is ok. So many dangers in that line of work the last thing you need is some drunk crashing into the back of him.

Tell him thanks for all that he does.

A drunk driver totaled my first TJ three days after I got it. Luckily I walked away.

There were 2 guys involved in the crash;
First guy = guy on motorcycle
Other guy = THE OTHER GUY, the one in the car who caused the crash.

Seriously, was it that obscure?

The other guy was found mentally incompetent and sent to an institution, never stood trial.

You should add "YET" to the "Never stood trial" part of your response. . . After he is in the institution long enough to be declared competent, he will stand trial. Doesn't matter if it's months or years from now, he will not get out of the institution until he's competent, and at that point, he'll be taken right back into court to stand trial for drunk driving.

The system may seem whacked out, but he'll get his.

Is it too much to ask that drunk drivers be stood up against a wall? Rather then be given a slap on the wrist and let loose till they finally murder someone?

Yes

If your saying that a guy that had 3 beers while playing pool and then got pulled over should be shot.

Don't forget, 2 beers is over the limit. It doesn't matter your tolerance.
