just as the title says....
while i was putting on the lift, i couldn't get the main spring eye bolt out, so we got a 4' cheater bar and extension and tried to break the bolt loose.... well the extension snapped and flew across the garage and almost killed me..... ![]() ![]() the bolt was stuck so badly i had to get a giang monkey wrench, strap it up to the bolt, then use a floor jack to rotate it to break the bolt.... ugh

If it wasn't for 4' cheater bars on 12" extensions on 3/8ths sockets, nothing would ever get done in my garage. Never had one fly though. I usually end up doing all the flying, with the occasional cartwheel. Me and my brother are the case against lifetime guarantees.

I've done that. I also twisted the head off a grade 8 bolt that way with a long breaker bar!

Had a similar experience with a 36mm socket, a 3/8 to 1/2 adapter and a 3ft bar. Almost lost an eye and my knuckles.

I have found that 1/2" drive sockets are well worth the money, nothing life threatning but I havehad stuff go flying before as well

i wear foil underwear too
|
i've never had it happen, not even on the willys.
a good (overnight) soak in penetrol, a bit of heat (sometimes), and the proper tool with the proper technique seems to get it done. lj

Ive BLOWN UP the head on 1" cap screw at work. The screw was stuck in a mold base so we put about 10' of pipe on it with 2 or 3 guys on the end of it pushing
