In most cases stuff like this doesn't even have an identity with it; unknown authors or online pseudonyms are about all you'll find unless it's an actual published piece of work.

Seriously, I don't know what poing you're trying to prove here. Who are you, like the MPAA of the interweb, protecting all of the intellectual property in its tubes? Together, you and Lars Ulrich could probably take over the world.

The OP wasn't trying to gain anything or fool anyone, he was just sharing something he found funny. Holy crap get the **** over it already.

I am trying to prove that people should get credit for their work. And I never said anything about paying the actual OP of the story.

Then it is simple to fix his "mistake" right? Simply give credit.

Very well. Credit is hereby given to H.R. Poopnsquirt* as provided by your link. Just for reference I googled it albeit with apparently different terms; the first few pages of results all had references to cross-posted forums and email attachment origins.

(* Pseudonymn used under the writing of material. No actual name, email, domain or otherwise individually-signifying forms of proper identification found to be able to positively identify the author.)

Said credit is basically ANONYMOUS INTARWEB USARS!!! Wow, who'd have guessed?

I'm hereby declare that everyone on this forum make a notation in their sig giving credit to the established intellectual property owners regarding the avatars and quotes used in their profiles.

Like it or not someone wrote it. He is the original writer and should be given credit in my opinion.

(With myself that is)

What a leap....From one guy that you don't know (Which could be said for just about any Writer that has written anything worth reading) to "ANONYMOUS INTARWEB USARS"

What is so hard about this simple concept?

I give up.

The fun initially intended here has been effectively been dragged through broken glass, stomped on, garroted with parachute cord, lit on fire, pulverized with an industrial auger and been peed on.

I'll give you credit for that.

The point that you should be concerned with is that you are the only one who thought he stole it. It is clear from the format of the original text that it was copied and pasted. There was no plagarizing going on. Do you always cite the orginal source of information before your write or speak?

good thing you didn't claim it as your own or something bad might have happened

This thread was hilarious until the Internet Nazi, oops I mean Nanny, showed up to put everyone in their respective proper places.

Why is he in such a mood? Perhaps his underwear is on backwards, or is three sizes to small. Sure hope he figures out how to lighten up, or he's gonna be a miserable SOB -- not just here, but on any other board -- or anywhere he goes in life.

JMO, of course... can't give anyone else credit for it.
