Wouldn't that be *too* cool to have if you had so much money you didn't know what to do with it, lol. I am from Miami, I think parking it offshore, having like a 30-something run-about to travel from ship to shore... then have a Jeep waiting for me in the marina parking lot. Plus... the big Ft. Lauderdale Air and Sea Show is coming up this weekend, I could get a prime spot for the beach invasion. Maybe even let the pilots land on my boat and have a beer between demonstrations... ![]()

That's so cool! But, is it just me, or wouldn't you think an aircraft carrier would go for alot more than 6.5 mil?

Nah, you don't want those '53 models, they get horrible gas mileage, not to mention the upkeep....

I wouldn't be too surprised to see someone buy that, retrofit it with cabins ala a cruise ship, doll it all up with the best cruise ship amenities, and then start cruising it around. I bet a bunch of vets would b\pay for that kind of cruise, and it would be kind of interesting too.
That thing has to be in terrible shape though. That is way cheap in my book. And I know a ton about pricing things. I watch The Price is Right nearly every day...

Build a mud pit and a rock crawling pit on the flight deck and in the hanger.

the best part
anyone else notice the "ship it" button under the add. i can see shipping a ski nautique across country, but this? it pretty much ships itself (no pun intended).

Sweet! Grady got it right. Jeep obstacle course on the deck, and a band in the hangar! Jeep Jamboree: Off road, off shore!
Just be careful about the water hazards. You'll need a LOT of line for that recovery.... ![]() |

I was on the USS Bataan when we were the center for the air show in Ft Lauderdale in 1999. Those things drive like a suburban with four flat tires.
Even if you bought it, the price of learning how to drive it vice upkeep would kill you and exceed 6.5million. Hunter

As I was flying around corpus christi, tx on thursday we were flying over the USS Lexington during our approches to the base. The Lexington is a floating muesem now by the way. I couldn't help but think how small those things look from the air. I would think you would have to spend at least 6.5 mill a year just for upkeep. As mentioned before could you imagine the parties you could throw on that thing.

Man I wish I had the coin to go down there and catch the Air and Sea Show! I used to go to everyone when I lived in Pompano.... The first year I went I got wasted and jumped off the Sunrise intercoastal bridge at 11:30 at night. Man them were the days.....
