Does it make you mad when people call other SUV's "Jeeps"?

My friend has a newer Chevy Blazer and its a nice vehicle but definitly not a Jeep. The other day he says to me that he forgot his phone and says "I left it in my Jeep". I was like "uhhh what do you mean your Jeep? Its not a Jeep, its a Blazer." I hate it when people call any suv a Jeep. I mean I think Jeeps are pretty recognizeable as Jeeps to most people but when people start associating that word with all suv's it can get a little out of hand. Any of you have any experiences like this?

I saw a bumper sticker on a Jeep that said :

"Your SUV is not a Jeep, My Jeep is not an SUV"

I would get one, but I am not a bumper sticker guy

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

Yep, i hear it all the time. Seems most people just refer to all suvs as jeeps. Kind of a compliment in one way really..they'd rather call it something valuable then the p.o.s it usually is..

Like all sodas are Coke.

"what do you want to drink?"
"Coke"
Waiter arrives with Coke.
"I wanted Dr. Pepper!"
"You ordered a Coke."

Or all photocopying is Xeroxing.
All facial tissues are Kleenex.

Generic-ing the brand... NOT good for those with the name (or those of us who DO own the brand name product!

Keep moving forward. But keep an eye on history, for if you don't, you are doomed to repeat it.

Why would this bother you?

If I asked for a crescent wrench and you handed me one made by Craftsman, and not Crescent, I would not be concerned. Just let it be.

Jumping on people who say 'car' in a post when referring to their jeep confuses me as well.

My Jeep is one of three things:
1. Jeep
2. Truck
3. Rig

Period.

A YJ is not a truck, my dak is a truck (kinda it is still a little small for some to call a truck)

A YJ is:
A Jeep
A Rig
The wrangler between the crappy round headlight models

A YJ is very much a truck, just like every other truck-framed vehicle on the market including minivans.

I'm no Jeep expert, but I do know A Blazer is :
1) A Chevy
2) A 4Wheeler
3) A 4X4
4) a K5
5) an off-road vehicle, but it's NOT a Jeep. And most of these may not apply because Chevy did build quite a few 4X2 models of the Blazer.

Uh...minivans don't have frames. Most of them are built the same way as most cars...UNIBODY comstruction. Frame/body are one unit.

But, what do I know...I just drive an old, obsolete YJ with leaf springs. You know, those things that REAL trucks use for suspension.
