Do you "WEAR" your rig or "DRIVE" it?

This hit me last weekend while wheeling. I don't drive my old yj anymore, I've gotten so used to it it's natural. Sorta like how pilots say theres a point when you no longer fly a plane you wear it.

We were fooling around in the local playground trying harder technical stuff and sort of pushing the limits in a no pressure kind of way. After drinkin' for hours, I went alone to a construction site by driving through this nice wetland with protected frogs and got stuck...... Kidding.

Anyway, We were at the local "with permission" rock garden and were having some fun stressing out the rigs a bit and it dawned on me, except for loosing my concentration looking at my buddies trophy wife with the big silicone cleavage, the wheelin was almost natural, unlike Rebecca's rack. No worrying about how the Jeep would take this rock or that, no worries as to off camber before pucker limits, it was without really any concious thought. Had a great time.

When did you hit this point? It really made the trip much more fun.

Well, that, and Rebecca's rack.

I haven't reached it off the trail, but I've been telling my friends lately that there's nothing like going down the road with a TJ strapped to your back

Im at that point on the road with my jeep. I know how far i can push the limits and how itll react when i do. i know when i can and cant pull out into traffic. i have had much opportunity for wheelin, so im still cautious offroad.

It was like that with 31's and lockrites. With the 35's and ARB's, I still have to consciously wheel. I figure a couple of more years and it will be "worn" again.
