Take it easy on the JK drivers.

I accepted the JK as a Jeep the day I waved at an Unlimited with a mom and 3 girls who enthusiastically waved back.

Give 'em time, they will catch on.

I always get waves from TJs and 06 or older wranglers.....alot of times from 2 door JK's but rarely from the 4 door JK's......my wife calls me gay " all the time " for waving ......( not that there is anything wrong with that ) !!!! If the Yuppie jerks that drive the JK's dont want to wave then they forfiet the right to any roadside assistance when they breakdown !!! that's the way I look at it .....

I have noticed that if the jeep looks to be modified in any real off road way, they will wave around here. this carries through any wrangler type body including jk's and also cherokees and liberty's, especially renegade packages. I think it is something that is entrenched in the jeep spirit, but so many women and yuppies buy jeeps cuz they are 'cute' and never understand the subculture behind it.

It seems most Wranglers wave (I think the dealers or PO's told them, or they've gotten used to seeing it). Those that have been modded seem to have a better chance than not at waving even if they're not a Wrangler-esque Jeep.

The JK's? Yea, they're kinda slow for the most part, but we gotta help em along.

There have been times when I've been crusing with the wife (not in El Jeepo) and I've seen a jeep....have to fight the urge to wave.

That's funny, my ex thought I was strange for waving. She would ask, do you know them? I'd try to explain to her that it's a Jeep thing, and a sign of respect. I guess some people just don't get it (including most JK owners unfortunately).

Ditto that here in South Texas. I quit waving to the JK's too. It's kinda easy to tell who knows to wave and who doesn't. You would think that after driving around for maybe a day or so a person would figure it out. Go figure.
I have an '08 JK as well as the TJ and I still only wave to the TJ's or older when I'm in the JK.
I've been driving Jeeps continuously for 28 years and it started getting worse when the wrangler first came out. Maybe the JK's will catch on like the Wrangler's finally did.

When im drivin the yj all mudded up (never gets body washed) It seems like the stock xj drivers usually do the "improved wave" i guess it would be. It consists of taking their overpriced ball-cap and pulling it down over their face and turning their head to the passenger side lol

as for jk's we dont have any of them around yet

Yeah. You all gotta do us a favor and don't give up on the JK's, especially us guys who came from YJs/TJs to JKs. We need to teach the new people so they either start waving back or get annoyed and get rid of the Jeep :P

My fiancee waves at anybody driving with a jeep emblem...something she accidentally started doing when i had my wrangler. I waved to a wrangler with her in there, she asked what that was. I said, "its a jeep thing" joking with her. She laughed, but thought i meant ANY/ALL jeeps.

Don't worry. Most of the local Jeep owners have no idea what they're driving other than Barbie used to have one.

I wave all the time and almost always never get one back.

An almost 100% guarantee of getting a wave back is when they have the top and/or windows down.
