Like many of you, I'll wave to all wranglers (even the ones that have only been to the grocery store). I've also noticed that very few stock models wave back. I ride a cruiser bike but wave to all riders inc gxrs .

I guess the wranglers, although more of a "brotherhood" than SUVs in general, still suffer from being bought because the owner wants a look or the feel of being adventurous.

Of course, around here, pickemup trucks are the "real" deal.......

Being in construction and liking the outdoors, I've got one of each....but only take the pick up to work if I've got to carry stuff, otherwise it's the jeep sittin' outside my job trailer......

Jim

It must be a Wrangler thing. I have owned a Cherokee for over 20 years and had never heard of the Jeep wave until I bought a Wrangler a few months ago.

Ill wave to cj yj tj and jk, and ill give the thumbs up or something to built xj's or zj's. And yeah i dont get any love from most of the jk's either. One thing that REALLY bugs me is the largest jeep dealer in Indiana is here in my town, and they have made it a habit to start selling JK's with mild lifts, so now everyone and their mothers have lifted jeeps. You other guys are lucky though, my girlfriend thinks its absolutely stupid to wave

I wave to all CJ YJ TJ and even JK. Most wave around me. Seeing the guys in JKs (one in particular at my school) not treat them like a Jeep gets to me. My girlfriend didn't get the wave at first. I had to prove it was real haha.

I try to wave at all CJ, YJ, TJ, and JKs around. I have only gotten one wave from a JK unlimited. I'm a girl and have noticed that other girl jeepers around here don't wave or even look at other jeeps. Practically all the guy jeepers do unless they're the young ones. I'm in a stock TJ but do get lots of waves weither initiated by me or the other jeeper. This didn't used to be the case...just started happening in the past year or so.

Before I got the Jeep my old lady was the exact same way with my bikes. She thought it was stupid until I bought her a FXR and now she just rides around with her left arm down to the left...haha. When she drives the Jeep she is a waving addict too...btw Cubs Win!

I wait till I can see the driver before I wave. If I catch it in time that its not an old lady or anyone in a business suit, then I wave. But its usually just at wranglers unless I see some mods.

Everyone should include their wave policy in their signature. I'm going to blog about mine!

I think my small town is doing good! I wave at every cj,yj,tj and jk and no matter what condition the cj,yj or tj is in I almost always get a return wave! The problem is the women and the jk's, rarely do I get a return wave form a girl or jk. There is a couple jk's in town that I know will wave when I see them. It almost makes me mad when I dont get a return wave from a Jeep and I get disapointed in my self if I miss a wave.....rarely happens...

i think people in knoxville are snobs .. the only people that wave to me are people i know, lol .. most of the jeeps around here are older jeeps with kids driving them, so i'm thinking that it's just a kid that had his grandfather pass down a cj and he thought it looked cool and that it might get him laid, but had never got into the jeep lifestyle. to put a note on you all talking about your girlfriends either getting pissed or laughing at you, i have noticed that when i have a chick in the jeep with me, and i wave to random other jeeps, she normally asks if i know everybody that drives a jeep, so i have to explain the jeep wave. and as for the gsxr's not getting waved at by harley guys, it is b/c riding used to be a lifestyle until kids made it into a fad, and the ones that made it into a fad are normally associated with sport bikes, so you probably won't find too many of the old guys that will even notice you on the road. i have a 72 750four chopped and chromed to the gills, and i have people wave at me across four lanes of traffic.

oh i forgot about something that pertains to the wave. i read a while back on one of these forums, and i like it .. it was some guy that said "i wave at the jeep, not the driver. if i get a wave back, it's just a bonus" .. figured i would add that in

I hate harley guys.
They have that "my bike is louder than yours which makes me a bad ***" attitude.

One of our work vehicles is a Wrangler, and nobody in my office knew about the wave before I started working there. When I told them about it, they looked at me like I was crazy. I proceeded to say "It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand." Then, one by one, they have come up to me and said "Hey, I passed another Jeep on the highway and the driver waved to me!"

They no longer think I am an idiot, and do their best to carry on the tradition. I guess I shouldn't have expected so much from a bunch of non-Jeeper architects.
