Democrats: if you had to chose one, McCain or Huckabee?

Lets say in some freak turn of events, your choice for President was either McCain or Huckabee.

Moving to Canada is not an option. You have to pick one. Which one, and why?

McCain

I like the fact that he has a relatively moderate voting record. In my opinion, straight party line voters aren't thinking all that much. He seems like a pretty straight-forward guy. Huckabee, while definitely likable and intelligent, has a completely theologically driven approach to social policy, and I don't really see the "fair tax" as a viable system. Neither of them come across as total scumbags (unlike Romney or Dumbya), which is good.

(No, I didn't vote. Because I'm not a Democrat.)

I'm registered independent. I'd vote for Huckabee because I agree with him, but I don't think he'll be around come election time.

I'll wind up voting for McCain, but Obama will win.

Ive always been a republican mostly because of abortion and I felt like the country would have a stronger military under a republican president. I like most of what McCain stands for. I dont like the fact that he said we'll stay in Iraq til the jobs done but he's also said that it was not engaged properly and Rumsfeld(sp?) will go down as the worst Secretary of Defense. With all this said, my standing on abortion hasn't changed but the way the U.S. stands it is pro-choice and always will be so who really cares about the way the president feels about that topic. The same with gay marriage, who cares, let's hear what the plans are for the important things, Iraq and the economy. I also don't believe that we belong in Iraq and shouldn't pre-emptively attack anyone unless we had concrete information showing that there would be an attack on the U.S. What I feel this country needs is a better economy and the longer we stay across the pond the harder that will be.

How come no one on this poll wants to stab themselves in the eye???

So get out there and hunt and fish and mess around with your friends, ramble out yonder and explore the forests, encounter the grizz, climb the mountains, bag the peaks, run the rivers, breath deep of that yet sweet and lucid air, sit quietly for a while and contemplate the precious stillness, that lovely mysterious and awesome space. Enjoy yourselves, keep your brain in your head and your head firmly attached to the body, the body active and alive, and I promise you this one sweet victory over our enemies, over those desk-bound people with their hearts in a safe deposit box and their eyes hypnotized by desk calculators. I promise you this: you will out live the bastards."

Ehh, I think acting like any candidate is going to bring on a communist or authoritarian revolution is childish. In the end, they all serve the same masters, and it ain't us.

I consider myself an independent but, if the election was today I would vote for dem. However, if McCain were to become the president it would not bother me all that much. His stance on Iraq bothers me but I see him as a republican that is willing to reach across the aisle to reach a compromise.

Well I must be a childish son of a ***** then.

Lets see, she wants to control our health care, take our guns, and wants to be able to tell our big businesses what they can and cannot do, how much money they should profit and tax them unfairly, sounds like good ole communism to me?
