I LOVE this gun. Bigger bullet, but less powder than your 30-06 or 30-30.

Marlin .44 magnum

I've got a scope on mine right now, but iron sights are still usable, and I definitely use them more.

Because of my location in MI, we have to use this. A Ruger .44 carbine...

Not a deer hunting rifle but I'm doing a 10/22 project right now and saw this one I thought looked well done.

This is my trusty 30 year old old Remington 700BDL 30-06. Decidedly overkill for most of the deer within a short distance of where I live but it's a great all-around caliber rifle. If I lived where deer were thick as flies like the Whitetail are back east, I'd go with my Winchester '94 30-30.

Jerry. I really hate to do it but

X2 No better rifle for the money than the Remington 700 30-06. A lever action Marlin 30-30 336C is also nice affordable rifle. Especially for the bush

Mine. Remington 700 .30-06. Great rifle. Still pretty new. Will be a year old on Christmas. Has a Leupold scope on it.

My dad and brother also have Marlins and they are great guns. A .35 and a .30-30.

My Rem 700 was my fathers , Then he gave it to me on my 18th birthday. He is gone now but I love that rifle more now than ever. That was 30 years ago. The fit and finish are still like new. The stock is the glossiest stock in the gun safe.

I thought I was the only fan of the .44mag lever gun!
I have a winchester model '94 with the short barrel. It's the perfect camping gun. I've never deer hunted with it though.

My deer rifle is a Browning A-bolt, .25-06, Left handed. I'll post a pic when i get home

I did a "Tactical" 10/22. Only stock part is the shell of the receiver

I was looking at marlin .44's a few years ago, decided to pick up a .444. Same bullet but an extra inch of case Lever guns and single shots rule!

I've got way too many to choose a favorite for any particular animal. I have a hard time choosing which to take for any given day

Well why haven't you replaced that yet?

But seriously, The best production hunting rifle out there is the Sako 85. But the best FOR THE MONEY is BY FAR the Tikka rifles made by Sako.

Sako 75 (couldn't find a good 85 pic)

Tikka T3

My personal favorite (though a varmint rifle rather than a deer rifle). My Tikka Continental Varmint in .22-250. A shotgun shell is in danger at 100 yards with this baby
