You don't say what they wanted for it?
I'm about to pay 30k for an '05, is that too much?

I don't know what model you are looking at, but I paid 20k for an '04 (in 2003) X model that had I6, auto, air, full console, etc. I feel I got a fair deal. A rubicon would have been about 25k.

the way i got my truck is had a dealer i know take me to an auction that sells pretty new lease trade ins and other trucks and cars and paid cash for a 2003 f350 diesel, you can get them dirt cheap, the one i went to had a ton of jeeps that day most went for around 10 or less, if you know a dealer and can afford to do it, go for it

I'd go with a slightly used Jeep, knocks thousands off the price

those are high

they must be high in your area ,,,for around $17k i could buy an 04 with an auto,I6,loww miles , thats just too much for me cause im tradin in a 98 F150 4x4 which really suks , they only want to give me $9k for my truck which has 70k miles so i have to add the difference,,,auction sounds like a great idea to me

I got my 04 Rubicon for 22,500 all said and done. That included the 2,500 in rebates. MSRP was 27.5k and if I remember correctly invoice was around 25k. You should be able to get the Jeep for invoice pricing. Just tell them up front thats what you want. I had to go to 5 or so different dealers until I got the right pricing. However my Jeep wsn't loaded. I ended up with a soft top, 7 speaker stereo, full doors, and sentry key. I think everything else came standard. No dual tops, rear trunk storage box, temp mirror thing, or cruise control.

If you're goin for a Rubicon, it's probably cause you actually need it (D44 axles, crawl ratio and all) so I'd try to pick up an '03 will few miles and good shape, can use the extra money for some nice upgrades

Been checkin' for 5 months, all the local dealers, I have to order mine to get the options I want, and it all comes out the same. About 28.5K. Add in tax and destination, 30k.

What the hell?

www.jeepwarehouse.com then. They can have it delivered local to you and you'll save thousands. They are having a sale on all in stock Jeeps for 6% under invoice. They had like 8 Rubis the other day plus 2 LWB Rubis. Check with them first. I got the same deal as the guy above..but mine was stickered at $28.5K and paid $23.5K. Worst case drive up here to NC where I got mine and save $6K.
