Awesome. I would love to take a trip like this someday. How long are you expecting it to take to accomplish this entire trip?

I think it will take around a year. If I average 100 miles a day thats how long it will take - but I really have no idea. I'd say plus or minus 6 months to that.

spent some time paddling with icebergs!
as always, more at http://www.dangrec.com

Did you see any whales? Being in such a small boat would have scared the poop outta me if I saw this! You got me thinking about saving up for a long road trip.

So do you pose like this for all your pictures or is the camera catching you off guard every time.

Haha, no we didn't see any whales, although there are some hump backs in the harbor of the town I am in right now my camera can only see them as black smudges in the water, but I can see them pretty well.

Haha - that has been my standard pose for a while now, maybe I need a new one ?

In all seriousness, your website shows some pretty cool stuff and I wish you the best of luck in all your adventures.

You can join in on my site! If you know somehwere I should be going/seeing/doing, please post it in the "suggestions" section.

My whole trip is based on recommendations from locals so any input is always welcomed.

Thanks for the kind words too, it gives me a good boost.

Had an awesome time hiking the Chilkoot Trail, from Skagway Alaska to Bennett, Yukon.

I made a detour to the sleepy town of Atlin in Northern BC to checkout the warm springs there
Well worth the detour for weary legs.

Dan,

How can you afford to go on such a journey? I couldn't imagine not having any income for more than a year. Also how do you think your '00 TJ will hold up with all of those hard miles.

I saved and saved for almost 2 years. Now I'm living very cheaply - You'd be surprized how low my budget is.
I also don't think there will be too many "hard" miles. I found a blog of two guys that did the drive in a civic!. It will be hot and dusty, but I don't think I'll even be in 4x4 all that often.
It will break down, of course, but that's part of the journey!

Sorry for the down-time - it's fixed now.
Rest assured the adventures continue and I'll continue to make sure the site is online.

I've been living large Yukon Style! loving it!
as usual more pics and stories at http://www.dangrec.com
