I hate those kinds of nights. Over my winter break i had one of those nights. Hearing people outside my window. The snow crunching as if somebody was walking. I grabbed my pistol and when out side to see no foot prints whats so ever. Just didnt feel right.

Im glad that everything was okay though.

When I was still in high school, my parents had just gotten divorced so it was my mom, my younger brother, sister, and me. My mom woke me up early one morning, just as the sun was coming up, because she heard people talking outside (we had the windows open). I walked around the house looking out the windows. I could sure hear people talking, and every so often I heard this roar. Freaked me out for a little bit, but I found out what it was when I went outside. A freakin' hot air balloon was maybe 100 - 150 feet above our house, just kind of hanging there. There wasn't a whole lot of wind, so they weren't really moving much at all.

So there's not really a point here, but I guess it never hurts to look up.

That is classic.

Strange. Had one of those nights on the 24th. Dogs were acting wierd, like someone just beat them, and the cat just went and hid somewhere. Me and the GF were packing heat all night.

I was thinking it was just Klingons in stealth mode, checking out our jeeps.. or maybe looking for Captian Kirk.. but they were way off cuz he lives a good 15 miles from us.

I had a night like that last week. One of those nights where you feel a bit uneasy. I made sure the shades were all drawn nice and tight and the outside lights were on and the doors were locked. I watched a scary movie. Then I noticed I had left the garage light on so I went out to the garage and turned it off and I heard the dogs bark back in the house. When I went back in the front door was unlocked. I guess I had missed it. So I sit back down on the couch and watch TV then all the sudden the dogs start barking like mad while looking down the hallway. Their hackles were up and everything. I took out my pocket knife and looked down the hallway, nobody was there, but the door to a room was open.

I checked all the rooms, mine first so I could get my gun, and nobody was in the house. I realized the dogs were barking at a box at the end of the hall that I had put there earlier in the day. But the rest of the night I still had that "someone's watching me" sorta feeling.

Ooh this reminds me of a creepy night i had. One night i was doing homework in my room around 1130. My laptop was playing some jack johnson while i was working on graphing functions. All of the sudden, my mom comes into my room and just says listen. I sat there for a couple of seconds and i begin to hear a faint crying noise coming from what sounded like my backyard. I sat there for a while trying to figure out what the sound could be coming from, but i couldn't. It was the eeriest sound i had ever heard in my life. it sounded like a cross between a dying rabbit and a scared and alone child. I went downstairs and popped open my window and listened and figured it was coming from my deck.
I went into my garage and popped my maglite and buck knife out of my jeep. My mom wanted to call the cops but i decided to go check it out even though i was scared out of my mind because i kept thinking of all the bad things that could happen. I looked from the stairs of the deck and my heart nearly stopped. it was just a cat. A ****ING CAT!

We had something weird happen a few months ago. Late at night my mom wakes up and hears this really odd, creepy bark/howl. She said about the time it started the cats freaked out and the dog jumped up. She said the rest of the night the cats curled up really close to them and the dog kinda "grabbed" onto my dads legs acting all freaked out. Kinda odd also she said that all the neborhood dogs quieted down for and hour or so. She said she has never heard anything like it before. Were not that far from the river and we guess it was comeing from that direction. The dog also dident want to go outside the next moreing.

I was in my front room using the computer browsing JF one night about 2 weeks ago. The weather was nice, so the window was open to let in the fresh air.

I hear some sort of weird bawling sound- like a young kid/baby crying, but it was intermittent. It almost sounded like the kid was crying "Mowm.....Mawm" (like he was crying for mom?). We currently live in Sacramento, California- not in the best part of town, but not in a terribly bad part either, and I was concerned that some kid could be hurt. At the very least, it was too late for some young kid to be out alone. The wife and I went outside to see what it was but didn't see anything out of the usual. We ended up going to bed with the thing still bawling outside.

Fast forward to this afternoon- just a few hours ago. I'm walking to the mailbox and I hear the exact same sound coming from my neighbor's yard. Peeking through the fence I see it- a goat. My neighbors have a ******* goat in the middle of the city...

WOW!!!!!! Is it bad that I have never had a "bad/weird" night in my 34 years. Im not a believer in most things (God, ghosts, the devil, phantoms, zombies bla bla bla) This is just one more thread in GD that makes no sence to me... Sorry im sure I will offend someone.

One of my dogs will occasionally stare at the corner where the ceiling and wall meet...not just one spot, but back and forth. I'll look up there to see if maybe its a fly or bug and there is nothing there. She'll jump off the couch, walk out into the hallway and back into the room, looking up the entire time. She does this about twice a month...then the last time, my other dog started doing it...but growling at the same time. I got up...grabbed my Glock and told them if they don't stop freaking me out I'll shoot em.

In my old house I was in the den goofing off on the computer. The door was directly behind my chair, so I could see the reflection in the screen. It was about 2 in the morning and I was drawing up some ideas on Sketchup when I saw a shadow walk past the door and into the bathroom. I got up to see why my wife was up and walked into the bathroom and there was nothing there. I walked into the bedroom and she was asleep. So I figured I imagined it and walked back to the computer. I sat down, got back into Sketchup and saw the shadow again, but walking back to the bedroom. So I asked why she was up and all I heard was "No" and heard the door squeak. I got up and walked into the bedroom to ask what she meant...and she was asleep.
So, I checked on the door to my roommates side of the house and it was locked. I knocked to see if he was home and he wasn't... I went to bed that night with my bat in one hand and a knife in the other.
Since that day we had an ongoing joke in the house about "the dead nun" and made up stories about her and how she was buried under our floor after being drown in the bathtub.... sad part is...we all believed our own stories.
