Crazy Alaskan Grizzly Man
I like this guy; he isn't an idiot like Timothy Treadwell. At least not the same type of idiot. Long article but pictures at the bottom!

conditioning bears like this makes the bear(s) equate humans with food. definitely a potentially dangerous situation.
Bears in the high peaks area of the Adirondacks learned to equate humans with food, and consistently raided backpackers campsites for food ... the bears even figured out how to get the food bags hung in the trees (most of the time, but not all of the time). Since the regulation started requiring bear proof food canisters, and hiker education, the situation has gotten much better.

You're right about how bears view food to humans. The interesting thing though is obviously he has proved that it can be viewed as a dangerous situation, but for him it isn't.
Also another thing to note is that where he lives,(and a lot of people here), what your neighbor does is not your business. So I dunno, you can say its dangerous and stupid, but he seems to be safe and doing something I'd sure like to experience! |

That Doug Seus guy looks interesting but I'd like to see him be around a hundred different bears, as compared to one bear raised as a child. His brown bear is much bigger than the black bears though. |

Bart was an awesome critter. Thankfully his son Tank carries the tradition on. The scene in the movie " The Bear" where Bart was growling and slobbering at the bear hunter trapped on the ledge was truly intense. Doug Seus is an amazing man. His ability with animals is unmatched. He also has some wolves that work in film.
