Not surprising. After doing some soul searching after my lemon experience and analyzing the issues with the Cherokee & Jeep/Chrysler & Fiat's history...it's really no surprise they suck with reliability.

Exceptions to every rule...my ZJ and KL on both sides of the spectrum...

After reflection...choosing a car brand/model is a triangle... the corners are Reliability, Capability, & Desirability. You can only pick two...

Jeep is Capable & Desirable.

Audi was a surprise.

The bad ones tho fail on reliability and in the Ford/Dodge/Jeep I think most of that lack of reliability is related to the electronics/connectivity. Which really has nothing to do with reliability unless those electronic accessories shut down other features required to drive the car. It used to be reliability meant the transmission blew up or the rad hose blew or..... now it means the check engine light came on. And every time I check it is still there.......progress is great !!

Isnt that the one that ran down the Samurai years ago. You do know that they skewed the tests right. A good stand up publication that only publishes the truth (that they want you to hear).

Consumer reports is a joke.

I work at a Subaru dealer and I wouldn't touch a Japanese one (Impreza, Crosstrek, Forester, WRX, STI, BRZ) to save my life. We're replacing all kinds of motors in them lately and they burn Subarus ****ty oil from the factory. Plus 90% of Subaru owners are outright morons with absolutely zero common sense. Subaru will do everything they can to get out of covering **** under warranty too. I've seen our rep track down WRX owners on forums, youtube, ect to not warranty motors that have **** the bed at 5000 miles.

Jeep, Dodge, and Fiat making the ****list doesn't surprise me. They were garbage when Chrysler started running them into the ground in the mid to late 00s and they've gotten infinitely worse in the last few years. I've never owned anything but Jeeps and Dodge trucks, but I wouldn't touch anything they make now.

The article couldn't be any less informative either. It's arbitrary ranking with absolutely zero explanation of what they mean or why they were given the rankings they were other than "reliability".

Subaru owner loyalty ranks up there with Jeep. I don't understand it in the slightest! Every post I see on them brings up head gaskets and oil consumption, but owners still brag about how awesome they are. I guess maybe they are like we are??? Now that being said, my wife's new (to us) VW Jetta TDI is starting to pull me towards their stuff! I'd almost get rid of my JKU right now for a new Golf TDI manual. (probably not though!)
