Conceal carry weapons? I am looking for a new one.
I am thinking of getting a new carry weapon and would like some ideas. I currently have a bersa 45 compact that I like but I am going to step down to a 9mm for a carry and sell the 45. I am leaning towards the Springfield XD9 3" model. I had an XD40 in the 4" and loved it. Heres a pic of the 3" XD9. What does everyone else carry?

One thing about finding the perfect carry gun. It's real easy. Must be, because I did it several times Current favorite is a Glock 26....................chim

I am not a big fan of glocks to be honest with you. I shot one a few years ago and it wasnt comfortable to me. Then a friend(he shoots glock matches and owns several) talked me into shooting some of his and once again, it wasnt comfortable. Has something to do with the angle of the grip to the slide I guess.

I'm about to buy the XD9 3" also, I've been to the range and shot atleast 1000 rounds through it and even though it's a range gun and get's shot like crazy, I've never had a jam yet and it shoots as good as the first time I shot it. Very nice and balanced gun IMO

We use the XD9 4" at work and before they purchased them we ran some tests. One test was letting the pistol sit in a bucket of mud and then firing it. It fired a 15 round mag without being cleaned at all.

The Makarov is a good old gun, it used to be the prefered carry pistol for the KGB back in the 70's. They can be bought very cheaply. check out www.Makarov.com

So how much is the Springfield XD9 3"? I currently carry a Bersa Thunder 380 but it is a bit too big for me. I'd like to go to something smaller and lighter.

I'm gonna stick to my ultra compact 45 with slim grips. I think any gun with a single stack width is the most comfortable. I always look for the narrow frames and not the lightest.

Colt Mustang Pocket Lite .380. Very accurate (for its size), easily concealable.

Although not the best for small-handed friends of the single stack weapons you can't go wrong with an HK USP or a SIG. I am currently saving up for a new SIG 2022 in .40 S&W. Not a fan of striker fired pistols. I have owned a Glock 23 but traded it for a compact 1911.
Oh and to the young man speaking about "upgrading" to a sigma. Trust me this is no upgrade. The Sigma is a cheap knock-off of the Glock and a very poor knock-off at that. The trigger pull is gawd aweful.

I carry a baby Glock 9mm. I looked at the XD version of it, which is nice. The XD has some nice safety features, but it is slightly heavier. Slightly I do say. I went with the Glock as it is what friends carry. I like it. Super easy to take apart as I'm sure you know. It's taken some time to learn to shoot with it well. I like it!
