As a fan of Mizzou, this was our best team in some time. Being a fan of Mizzou for over 35 years, the game was not over until the clock hit 00:00. We even got a retiring B10 official to confirm the down late in the game…that was sweet.

Charlie Strong (Louisville) to Texas.......Thoughts?

Personally, I like the hire. I never was big on the potential for Saban coming to Texas. I don't know how he would have handled the big money boosters which would have made him a target quickly if he wouldn't have won 2 or 3 championships in the span of 4 years plus he's a pretty no nonsense type of guy and if there's one thing at Texas it's nonsense LOL
I also didn't like the idea of Chuckie, I just don't think he would have been a great fit. Then there's Briles from Baylor....I'm not sure how I feel about that. I like the guy and he's a great coach...I think it would have been a great hire as well but IMO what Texas needed was a great defensive coach so all in all I think the Strong hire is the best of both worlds. Only downside I see with him is that he hasn't been a HC for very long but he's gotten results so I'm hoping for the best.

I'm glad Clemson won but not surprised that they did. The only reason Clemson went was because the ACC has a contractual tie in with the BCS. Which is precisely why the BCS is being dismantled. The entire college football world is tired of sorry ACC teams like Clemson who isn't even ranked in the top 10 going to BCS bowls. And Ohio St who proves nothing all year with their cup cake schedule. Neither should have been in the orange bowl.

Indeed it was a great game last night. I thought FSU would win it handily but I was wrong.

Ah yes, the good ol "Student"-Athlete

http://www.cnn.com/interactive/2014/...res/index.html.

How does your school rate? I would love to have seen Purdue on this list just to see. I know we rate on the non-existent end of grade inflation (which is good), but it's always fascinating to me to see data about academics and schools.

Georgia looks to be pretty poor but this is not a revelation to me since I had some classes with the athletes and so did my brother who told me some funny stories.

It's funny that Alabama does not keep records for their athletes. Last I checked on my transcript it had my SAT scores and final GPA...weird.
