closed on our new house w/pics

my wife and i closed on our new house this past thursday. it is also our first house. we were already tired of paying close to a grand for a one bedroom apartment that we outgrew the day we moved in. we have now joined the ranks of poor people...haha. with the craziness of christmas, i didn't get to post about it last week, but i'm sitting here quite bored at work so i figured i'd share.

*i'll probably use this thread to post pictures of the house as it is coming along during our current move, and also of all my projects unfolding......because i'm a dork like that.

some info on the house itself:
located in New Braunfels off cr725.
2000 sq. ft.
3 bedrooms / 2 bath
study
formal dining
breakfast nook
covered back patio
almost all upgrades including, built-in appliances in kitchen, rounded corners, arched doorways, upgraded baseboards, crown moulding, chair rails etc in formal dining, garden tub and sep. shower in master, double sinks, "water closet", didn't pay to upgrade the flooring past the already upgraded carpet because we can do it ourselves much cheaper - basically if it's our last house, we'll be happy with it. if it's not our last, it's an investment into a better resale.

things i'm working on right now....hanging new light fixtures that the mother-in-law gave us (the plain white ones they put in there pretty much suck). installing garage door opener that she gave us (craftsman 3/4 hp). lining attic floor with plywood to begin storage of stuff and getting it out of my garage. building shelving and workbench in the garage. and from now on a neverending list of other things.

here are some pics...more to come: (i have tons of in-progress unfinished pics but not many finished ones yet)

the jeeps in their new homes

about they only two things i have in the garage at this point.....my tool chest and old wheels...

I'm very jealous. I put in a bid on a house, lost the house to someone else, then found out I was outbid by 4K. My realtor sucks. I have now decided to take a break from the search for awhile since it can be very frustrating. I hate my apartment even more though....

thanks guys! i will hopefully be able to unload the wheels sometime soon. i was thinking about putting them on the XJ, but i'd rather sell them and get a hoist for my hard top.....which was actually what i was going to do before i got the rims instead.

we don't bother with the waterpark anymore. we have our own tubes (actually i think we have like 15 of them) so we just float down the rivers with them for free.

There's a good bbq place not too far from new braunfels too...in Luling, TX....think it was called City Market or something like that...I was gonna drive out that way last time I was working in Houston. About 2 hours west of there. Never went, got lazy.

If I'm ever unfortunate enough to work in the Austin or Houston area again, I'm not gonna pass it up.

(actually I like Austin alot....can't say the same for Houston)
