WOW I remember my first pair back in the 50's. Thats the shoe us poor kids wore. About $5.00 a pair, worn with blue jeans with the cuff rolled up and a white T-Shirt. What the heck happened to the price?

wore em at my wedding as did my best man and father,I had to wear em when i was a kid because we didnt have much money and they were cheap and still wear em now, they are light weight and breath well and are great for when your on your feet all day.I find it helps to cheat and put in the gel inserts now that im 40,just ads some extra support.

Yes, I know you meant Chuck Taylors. I call athletic/casual shoes tennis shoes. My point is, what would be remotely pathetic about wearing a pair of casual canvas shoes as an adult?

How is it any more pathetic than a grown man who uses the term, "for real."

I still rock the Chucks, but I agree completely. Samba's are prolly the best shoe I've ever owned. I've been wearing the same pair for about three years and the soles just now wore through! haha, I finally got a replacement for Christmas. But my Chucks will probably remain my favorite shoes, they're hard to beat.

typing an unnecessary amount of "ha" at the end of everything you type like a 13 year old girl should get your man card revoked

it was the brides idea to wear chucks at the wedding. their colors were red and siver so she and my buddy wore red ones while i and the brides maid wore grey ones. so it wasnt my choice

That's why I wear boots while I ride to work and back and wear the chucks at work. No one sees me at work. I work behind the scenes and the chucks take up less room in the locker.

My 3 year old loves his, wears them almost as much as his Keene's. I may be one of the few people in the US to never have owned a pair though.
The last time I saw them they were around $55. If I could still find them for $35 I would have a pair. Come to think I haven't seen any of the classic "All Star high-tops" anymore, just the low.
