im not gonna say that im the most religious person out there, but it does tend to strike a nerve.

so hows everybody else feel about it?

The X in Xmas isn't an 'ex' it is actually te Greek letter 'chi'. Chi, as some have pointed out was used as an abbreviation for Christ in the first century church. Remember that much of the text of the early writings of the new testament were written in Greek in addition to Hebrew. So, Xmas doesn't take Christ out of Christmas - it's just a REALLY old school way of saying it!

EDIT: Just looked at the aritcle posted by Rossta. Should have read it before I posted.

I don't give a damn if people say, "Happy Ho Ho." It's all the same to me.

Those pinko leftist scum bag socialists can take their political correctness and shove it up their asses. As far as I am concerned Christmas has nothing to do with Christ. It is a day specifically set aside for love, happiness, friends and family.

ps – xmas isn’t Jesus’s bday.

Nothing like getting in the holiday spirit by complaining and arguing on the internet over banal minutiae.

Happy holidays

My thoughts---- When you sign things Merry X-MAS then you have forgetten what CHRISTMAS is all about. Its about the birth of Christ our Lord and Savior. The gifts are just a superfistial thing. With out him we would be nothing. Merry Christmas to all. Kent

Back on topic, I prefer to call it Christmas, I don't even know where x-mas came from.
There is a reason that there is the "Holiday Season". The reason is because of Christmas...

Without Christmas, you wouldn't have presents, the holiday cheer, the songs, cookies, Santa and a whole lot of other things that come with this time of year.

It has been turned into a mainstream holiday because corporations can pimp Christmas to sell more and more throw away crap.

This year for Christmas, I made my Girlfriend two pearl necklaces, got my brother some weights for lifting, my mom a cheese cutter, grandma a cook book and my dad socks, a new knife and a Jeep t-shirt. Things that are useful, thoughtful and not cheap throwaway crap like I have seen so many people doing.

Giving is nice, but thoughtful giving is even better. Don't buy into the different stores telling you that its a "Guaranteed WOW!"(BestBuy) or "For all those special times"(Fred Meyer) or the Zales ads and other jewelry ads.

Christmas has been commercialized to the point that it makes me sad because for those of use who it actually is an important day see the rest of the consumers not really realizing why they are celebrating a certain day.

Merry Christmas. I honestly hope you have a good day and may it be good and blessed.

I'll use xmas only if im being quick and don't feel like writing or typing out christmas. I won't use it in speech or anything goofy. But I also don't say Merry Christmas to strangers at my job, I always say "Have a good Holiday" to prevent offending somepme.

Even though it's not an insult or "taking Christ out of Christmas," I would never say "Merry Ex-mas." That's just dumb.

Also, if you think there is not a war on Christmas, you better open your eyes.

One more thing, Christmas has everything to do with Christ.

Merry Christmas everybody.
