Christmas tree stands... Grr

Is it just me or is this just the biggest pain in the butt.
Today we went out and got a tree a great big fat 8 footer. i got it in the stand perfectlyand brought it inside without a problem it even stood straight when we cut the rope off it. once the lights were completly on the tree it started to lean.
Now we cant get the tree to sit right in the stand. I Hate X mas Tree Stands

do you have the stand with the bolts you turn against the trunk of the tree? if so, they may not be evenly tightened causing the tree to lean toward the bolt that has the shortest length against the trunk. but i'm not sure what your stand looks like or the components.

I helped a friend pick out a tree today. She was really excited about having a tree, but those little stands are a pain in the ***.

Get a massive plactic one. It's like a huge green base of molded plastic that has a hole in the top for the trunk. They span about 1.5ft wide or so and they work good. Uses the same screw technique as the old metal models but holds up oh so much better. Later <><

I got the best metal stand that Lowe's had and that fixed my problems. It was $50. Just get a good one.

Best tree stand ever is the one that just has a vertical rod. Drill a hole into the trunk, set the tree on the stand and it's perfect. You can even spin the tree around on the stand and find the best side to point out.

(course it helps if you find a tree farm or stand that does the tree drilling for you. they usually have a drill mounted in a frame that the tree stands on. They hold the tree straight and then drill which helps a load if the tree has a funky trunk).

Did you make sure to hammer the stand on to the trunk so the spikes stick into it? Most people forget, or don't realize there are spikes on the bottom and thats what makes the tree stay up, not the 4 screws.

Some day I am going to design and produce the stand I have in my head. Could make me rich due to it's ease of installation and adjustments. Just haven't done it.

And on a side note I don't want to hear complaining about a single tree. We cut down another 300 this morning, bailed, and loaded onto a truck. All by noon.
