Chevy pickups out offroading Cherokees?

My dumb friend who is jealous of me and my friends' Jeeps is hatin' on Cherokees. He says Silverados are way better for off roading then Cherokees. Does anybody else think this is the dumbest thing they ever heard?

You can re-gear for those big tires.
I don't consider just blasting through a mud puddle wheeling since all you have to do is pin it to win it.
And the Chevy has independent front suspension instead of a solid axle.
And the Silverado is larger than the Cherokee I believe so I would not want to bring it on tight trails.

I would take the Silverado for towing my Jeep to the trails though...

All you need to do is watch any of the 4 wheel offroad adventures or actually go wheeling with him. Most trails I've ever seen full size trucks wheel on, they end up with so much body damage and usually end up getting pulled out.
