CB Radios

My dad has put me to looking for CB radios for a new pallet plant our company purchased. I was wondering if anyone knew any good sites to buy them for fairly cheap. Don't need anything fancy because they get crushed occasionally by pallets and such. What do yah know??

Amazon.com

Or if you're buying in bulk, contact a dealer or manufacturer and maybe they'll give you a discount price.

Id recommend business band/handhelds over CB. Better range and should work better indorrs with obstacles/walls. Also I think there are restrictions for CB business use.

I agree. And buy two to try first so you don't wind up with a bunch of quirky radios with poor user interface. I've thrown away perfectly good radios because I kept accidentally changing channels as a result of poor button placement.

The Motorola Talkabout is a good unit. It's easy to lock out all the controls by pushing and holding one button for 5 seconds. Then everything stays put.

They mount the CBs on forklifts, but the supervisers use handhelds like you're talking about.

I was saying that I recommend against use of citizens band radios for your purposes. Look into business band radios. A business band radio will work better in an indoor/obstacle area.
