I always liked Cakes music too. I remember listening to them when I was a few years younger too but never heard much more about them after they had that one really good CD a while back.

To much Brittney Spears a P.diddy hogging the airwaves and television screens these day.

I like Cake. Their first few albums were the best, then it went down hill. Check out Soul Coughing as well. They're pretty good.

Also Richard Cheese. Heh.

Hell yea. Every song on every album is great but the best has got to be Italian Leather Sofa. The trumpet solo is rockin. Love those guys.

YES! Stick Shifts is my favorite Cake song. Can't even listen to Distance anymore, heard it too many times to appreciate it anymore.

I really like Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps and Race Car Ya Yas. Fashion Nugget is easily my favorite Cake album....

I like their music, but they really pissed me off when they came here a few years ago. Their show was completely lifeless. The singer stood motionless at the microphone and never once even made eye contact with the crowd. No small talk between songs, no acknowledgement that we were even there.

A friend of mine was the music writer for the paper and he told me that the band had played New Orleans the night before and were all really hung over. I don't care, they put on a crappy show and acted like they didn't want to be here.
