Buying a house, jeep won't fit in garage...

So my wife and I are buying our first house. We looked at many, but I couldn't find a single one in our price range where my Jeep could fit in the garage.

Sooooooo... what do I do? I'm sure I'm not the first person to have this problem. Is it possible to increase the size of the garage opening, and fit it with a larger door?

would the truck fit if you put it on a spare set of rims with smaller tires?...is it your daily driver or just weekend trail rig?

Does it have a sectional garage door? They allow a larger entry than the old single piece doors?

Yes, no problem. I gained probably 4-5" of vertical height by just converting my garage doors from a cantalevered (lift up solid door) to the sectional kind that folds and slides into an overhead track like most automatic garage doors use.

What was a great coincidence for me was the same day years ago when I was installing a significantly taller lift onto my TJ was the same day my wife had new folding garage doors installed. I figured out later that day I wouldn't have gotten my Jeep out of the garage with the old doors.

(and moving this out of the TJ tech forum, this is more house related).

Maybe be airdown the tires, that might be able lose you a couple of inches, to just squeeze it under there.

Why is it a requirement that it be garaged?

I see only one solution: you'll have to build a barn with a shop in it. the shop will need, heat, A/C, lots of 220V sockets, a concrete floor and a vehicle lift. its the only possible solution i see

Pull the siding down, tear out the insulation, and reframe the door opening. Then you can make it as large as you want.

Find the cheapest one you can, preferably with no garage. Proceed to build your own garage tailored to your and your Jeep's likings. Set up necessities in the garage (fridge, couch, tv, toilet (optional), grille) and make yourself comfortable since you'll be pretty much living in there (both by working on the Jeep, and your wife getting mad at you for working on the Jeep so much).

Just some more friendly advice from me.

x2 this is what my grandfather did to his barn when he bought a tractor with a rollbar that was too tall to fit.

Just keep hitting the garage door at a fast speed until you make a big enough hole for you to fit in

You guys need to make everything so complicated
