But i wanna!!!!!!!!
Ever since i bought the tj, ive wanted to lift it so bad. I told myself that when i sold the toyota, that i would take the money and lift it. I would of had just enough money to buy the RE 4.5 LA, plus all the acsessories that are needed with it.
Decided not to though. Gonna be heading up North here pretty soon. Ive go the bug so bad though. JF doesnt help any either. Everynight I go to bed thinking about what i would do if i had just 10k. shoot, i would even budget for 5k. I could do a lot with 5k. Lift, wheels tires, lockers, and d44 in rear. hat would get me off pretty good. no pun intended! What was it like for you guys before you lifted the jeep? torture? Bryant

Go wheel it how it is. You'll feel better. You'll also learn what's most important. The 'looks' side of me wants a lift. The wheeling side of me wants armor. I may get a BB just to stave off the cravings, but we'll see. I really want skids after smashing the heck out of my factory steps (not on there any more). The factory gas tank skid doesn't stop much either. Edit: Oh, and if you really want a lift, do it piecewise. Buy the LA upgrade kit (the skid plate and arms), the coils, shocks, and the trac-bars separately. Buy the links, brake lines, and bump stops together. Overall, it will be a bit more than the complete kit, but that way you can spread it out. It sounds like you know the basics of what else you need, but spreading it out can take the edge off the lift. $1500 for the axle (with locker and gears), $500 to regear the other axle, $1500 for the upgrade kit, $300 for shocks, $700 for other lift components, $1500 for tires and wheels, $500 for armor, $500 for bumpers... what is that, $7000? I hope you've got your own tools, and know some friends who like pizza and beer. ![]()
