lol I have heard that, don't feel bad my county is shotgun/muzzleloader only. I have to go up north a few miles to get into rifle country.

I don't think you can CC in NJ, even if you built your own personal defense weapon by hand haha

I saw a couple nice rack bucks in my area yesterday morning and needless to say it got my wheels turning!! Every season is great in it's own way and I expect nothing less for this season. Just being in the woods away from everything else and appreciating what we have in life makes every hunt a success whether I drag a deer out or not. You never know when it's going to be your last.

October 1st was opening day of bow season down here. I went this past Sunday and got me a tasty little buck. Just a 5 pointer, but its my first buck and my first deer ever. Didn't think it was too shabby for only my second hunting season ever.

^ Good for you go get em! I never used to take doe's but we have so many up here it's worth thinning em out a bit and its a great meat deer for the end of the season.

55 Yards! I don't think I have ever taken a shot any further than maybe 25-27 yards. Good call and your right at that distance everything needs to be perfect.

In NJ we just this year got to start hunting archery on sundays. It has worked out well for me. The only day I could get out so far this season was this past sunday. I got a nice 5x4 with an inside spread of 15 1/2". He is about 160lbs.

Well finally got a deer last night. Took this guy at about 35 yds with my hoyt katera. It was getting dark and I wasn't sure how big was but I knew he was a shooter. I was very pleased when I found him. 9 points grossed about 140, this ones going on the wall.

Thanks man, It wasn't easy I've been hunting hard every weekend since the 15th of sept and haven't seen a whole lot. I passed on a decent 8 pointer Friday morning and I was second guessing myself but it ended up being a good decision.
