Better Get Your Guns While You Can

Just curious if anyone here is going to get their guns before Barack gets into office? I am wanting an additional Kel Tec PLR-16. I am quite sure if he gets in, assault weapons will be banned.

Don't you mean McCain?

gunowners.org give him an F minus.

F minus? That's a low grade I didn't even know existed until now.

Yep. One of the most inconsistent senators when it comes to gun control. (reference)

No matter who gets in im stocking up on ammo, and might buy a few more guns too. But i still think that gun control will be alot worse with obama.

The SCOTUS recent upholding of the 2nd in the DC case reflects well on the future of individual gun ownership in America. The President doesn't interpret the Amendments, that's the role of the judiciary in our government.

Oh yes, Obama hates guns. Just a few things he has tried to do off the top of my head is ban all centerfire rifle ammunition, put a 500% increase on tax when you buy a new firearm, ban ALL semi-automatic firearms. I understand he is wanting a permanent assault weapons ban in place...the list goes on and on.

I just saw on the news gun sales are up 10% even though the economy is down, I wonder why?

Pretty sure that since the Prez also nominates the judges that make that decision, it will be pretty easy for either side to stuff the bench with those that see the amendments in the proper light...

Exactly, we don't need to worry unless Obama gets elected and then some Supreme Court Justices retire. If Obama gets elected I predict that the dems will lose control of congress within 2 yrs, so any justices Obama might try for after that will have to go through a Rep led congress.

except they're in for life so they'd have to retire for him to get any in, not to mention they have to be approved by Congress.

You mind explaining how the Clinton assult weapons ban came into play then? I'm pretty sure the SCOTUS wasn't asked their opinion.

Very good chance that at least 2, maybe 3 will retire in the next 4 years. Approval by Congress? Yeah, that will be tough for a Dem President to get approval by a Dem house and a Dem Senate..

Super majorities are dangerous.

I already voted, as if my tiny state matters.

Scary is what it is. They could push anything through that they want, and they will.

That's why buying a firearm or anything else that the soon to be crazy liberal majority doesn't feel you should have is a good idea. Pelosi knows that people with legal firearms are a threat to leftist nut jobs like her, that scares her so she'll quickly work to remove as many gun rights as possible and Obama clearly supports those lines of though (or lack thereof).
