AutoCAD 2009 help

Screw this 2009 stuff....

I just got a wonderful "upgrade" to windows vista and 2009 at work...great, now its gonna take me twice as long to do everything seeing as im only proficient in 2006 2007 and 2008. Hell, i'm not even proficient in there.

Anyway, how do I make my workspace color not that papery off white color. i want it black.

I've got AutoCAD 2010, but it should be the same.

Right click anywhere within the drawing space. Go to options. Under options click the Display tab. Under Window Elements click Colors then it should already be on 2D, Make sure its on Uniform background and then select your color on the right.

Clear as mud?

It took me a while to get used to my AutoCAD 2008 Mechanical - but - now I don't wanna upgrade. If I have troubles with my A-Cad I visit the forums at Cad Tutor .. great bunch of guys and gals there too.

If I am bored at work, I'll visit there for a while and if the boss comes in, I just tell him that I am doing some more AutoCAD training

Haha, I just signed up at a autocad forum, not sure which one, but I just wanted to grab some north arrows off of it.

Honestly, I like the layout of 2009 and 2010 a lot better. But I'm young, what do I know.

09 sucks, the only smart thing they did do, was make it available to revert back to a classic view so you don't have to use all their stupid a$$ dashboards and pallets. The other bad thing about this is that soon enough, 08 and older versions will be unsupported versions, and you'll never be able to get any help out of them for it. I also find it funny that AutoDesk will be calling (or is calling) Inventor 2010 -- AutoCAD Inventor 2010. Mark my words, it wont be too long before AutoCAD will be no longer, and they congeal Inventor and AutoCAD into one program. IMO, They will make Inventor a crappier program, and all the AutoCAD users won't know what the f*ck to do. But, this will increase their support for things like AutoDesk University, and people will pay for it. All of the above, just my $0.02....
