Judging by the way you attempt to type a sentence we can see why you do not pick up rank.

When I first started to get interested in th Masons I heard there was some issue between being a Mason and Christian. Some folks said you cannot be both, others said of course you can. I searched the web and found some sites regarding this, most I hate to say were Christians bashing Masons. I couldn't believe how rude these so called Christians were.
So I guess my question would be, As far as Mason rules / laws .. is there any religions that are frowned upon or less accepted ?
Thank You in Advance as well

You can't be an atheist, and you have to be monotheistic... or at least agnostic. You just have to believe in SOMETHING for the most part.

Some religions don't allow their members to be masons. There are differing reasons for this but in my opinion its due to ignorance as to what freemasonry is about. I find that it's usually the more fundamentalist types of churches. You'd probably have to ask your church on their feelings about freemasonry.
Our only requirement is that you must believe in God. Who that God is is up to the individual.

I first read this thread this morning. I've never really read into the Freemasons. I've just heard them mentioned in movies and such. I find any big "secrets" to be very intriguing. Who doesn't?

I just spent 4-5 hours doing that. It took some time weeding through all the speculation, trash talk, and roundabout explanations. To be honest, I am disturbed by what I've came up with.
Not trying to offend anyone. Just saying.

Just out of curiosity what "disturbing" things did you find? There are quiet a few anti-masonic sites out there that have some really false stuff.

Hahaha, I'm pretty sure you have not found our secrets if that's your reaction.
Sound like you weeded through the boring true stuff and decided to believe the sensational false stuff.

Catholics are prohibited from being Masons; not by the Masons but by the Catholic Church. The Catholic church holds that because we do not require belief in the "correct god" we are heretical. The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic organization that mirrors the Masons and was developed to give Catholics who wanted to be Masons a sanctioned alternative.

I don't believe in a greater power, I do however believe in their teachings. I am not saying masonry is a religion, or view it as such, but as I understand, you must believe in a superior being. true, or false?
Last February I was introduced to a person (Ret. Military), once separated from the rest he approached me and asked if I had sent him a Token, and if I were a traveler. I of course understood, and apologized. What did I do?
I've done my best to live my life, helping those whom I do not necessarily have an affection for, or categorize those who think ill of me. Being that I am anti social - introvert, would I be accepted into the fold?
I only attended one year of high school, but am not stupid. Do they frown upon drop-outs?

The only thing that would disqualify you, from what I see, is not believing in a higher power.
As for the guy you met, he must have mistaken your handshake for a masonic one.

If you do not believe in a greater power you cannot be a Mason. It is upon your belief in such a higher power that bind yourself to your oaths. If you do not hold yourself accoountable to a higher power then your oath is without meaning. A "traveler" is a reference to beign a Mason. At some point you likely made a motion that resembles one of our signs and he was trying to determine if you were a fellow Mason. Nothing to appologize for. Masons do not hold it against you if you are a dropout. There are many introverts in Masonry (but few in the Shrine) and many enjoy the company of fellow Masons and others choose to do more esoteric research type things.

FC degree was great. Blows my mind how these guys can memorize these lectures. Now to get down to work on the Catechism. I am hoping to prove my competency by the end of February, so I can take on the Master Degree starting in March. Wish me luck brothers.

I had friend in while the Army hard working, knew his job and does it well, has better training, schooling, and experience than most. He is a Mason and promoted much slower than many that are far less qualified and deserving.
I am out of the Army, and work with a few retired CSMs. This I how they say they ran the boards. If they knew you and wanted you to promote they put you in the good pile. If they knew and didn’t want you to promote you went into the bad pile. Then they looked at the evals to see who would fill the slots left.
It would not surprise if being a Mason at the same lodge (or whatever) that somebody on the board belong to helped you but I don't think they base it on your membership alone.

Do Masons recognize each other by throwing up "gang" signs?
