Since I became famous for starting LONG and heated threads about arguments for and against things (police-state, gun control, etc)... I am starting one on this topic.

We all know about the house bill dealing with immigration, the proposed guest worker (amnesty) and the Mexican Star Spangled Banner.

What do you all think?

Give arguments for and against why we should or should not preserve America as it is and was founded by our forefathers.

Also give ideas on how we should be able to do it. Anything from songs of freedom to ethnic cleansing... give your opinion.

Keep in mind that the whole issue does not only deal with Mexicans, but European nationals (white who can blend in and you would not know they're illegals).

Unless they're willing to take my country by force, then I think they should either assimilate or GTFO. That includes all nationalities. You can maintain your own heritage and traditions yet respect another culture at the same time.

First off, we are NOT the nation our forefathers envisioned. We have stuck our noses in all four corners of the earth which all of the founding fathers would have frowned upon. They never would have imagined the melting pot that we have turned into, they wouldn't have even imaged other religions having any sort of prominance in America. There is no such thing as an "american race." How do you define and American? There are huge cultural differences between the northern and southern states, and there is no defined culture in any large cities. If you don't want to embrace hispanic, African, or European culture that's fine, neither do I, but that doesn't mean that others can't. If we have two functioning langues in this country so what? Many nations all over the world do and get by just fine. It is not the illegal imigrants who are changing our culture, they tend to stay out of the public eye and stick to themselves out of fear. I'm not saying illegals are okay and should be given amnesty, but people seem to blur the lines between immigrants and border hopers (probably out of racism) and feel threatened by people who don't look alike or embrace the same values that some of us do.

That's an interesting question, and to expand it, how many natural born americans would take up arms and fight in comparison? I bet you would see more immigrants fighting because they know what a good thing we have here. People whose families have been here for generations take that for granted.

Exactly: I'm figuring no more then 40%....and I'm being generous. The longer folks have been here, the more kids will have been sired and grown to adulthood...

The more they grow without conflict: the weaker they become. Its only natural.

And from that, you see the birth of....well...the "liberal" type movements...excusive, permissive, weak. If you dont have to fight for it...freedom is taken for granted.

Its like I always say: Being born in 1965, along with many others, we came in on the a** end of a good thing. Now its over. And its just a matter of time.

I actually don't completely agree with you but that was very well stated.

I agree, our forefathers couldn't have envisioned what we've become. They might be very pleased in areas:

They took a bunch of refugees and turned them into the world's most powerful and country

And displeased in others:

Like it or not, the country was founded on basic Christian principles. Those ideas and ways of life have become completely perverted and supressed.

I don't think theres any way you can logically argue that we should have 2 national languages. You're free to learn a new language and have radio and TV braodcasts in something other than English. You're not free to come into the country and demand that everyone cater to you. We couldn't all move to Germany and demand they learn English for us. (I know that example has been beaten to death....)

Just the idea that a Spanish version of our National Anthem is even on the table is disgusting.

And of all the mentioned groups: Christians have the most rights: they founded this country....

And please dont bore us about how the indians/eskimoes/etc were here first....rights of conquest apply: and they conquered the sh*t out of them....they just werent tough/smart enough to prevent it...
