arguments for 4X4

Down to teh wire, the final selection has been made between two basicley identical 98 2 door Xj's. they are identical in EVERY way . except on is 4X4 and the other is not . where I live there isn't, I will admit a real need for 4x4 except only maybe 7 looooong days a year. If I got an Xj I will have to admit that I really won't be wheeling it much for the 1st year or two. but it would still be really nice IMO to have the 4x4 even if I only used it once maybe twice a year. They are only 1100 $ apart in price with about the same milage 76,000.

Here is the dillema, how do I make a GOOOOD argument/ justification for having the 4x4 . because they both say WHY do you need 4x4.and I have run out of all the typical/good Excuses / reasons for getting the 4x4 equipped one.

Help, please give some new ammo to fight with. I MUST make my case or I will get stuck with 4X2

Easy. 4x2's look stupid when you lift them. You are going to lift it, right?

Have 'em watch Dante's Peak and see what happens to those who didn't get a 4x4

... it's damn sure the greatest movie ever made about why people should own four-wheel drives. A guy actually dies because he gets in a rear-wheel drive truck.

4x4 is worth more - resell is higher - greater demand for a 4x4.
Chicks dig 4x4's.

You never know when you're gonna need it. Today, some ******* parked me in my parking spot, and the only way out was over a 3 foot tall snowbank in front of me...with a mud puddle on the other side. No way I would have made it without 4x4.

I 2wd Jeep will take a lot longer to sell at a much lower price... the 4x4 will be easy to sell when you eventually upgrade to something else.

And when that day hits that you need 4x4 - you'd be able to get home safely rather than be stuck out in the snow or whatever.

If it's parents making the decision - they like the key word "safely"

hell, i dont really "need" 4WD either, but a couple weeks or so during the winter it helps...now, last year, my 4WD was needed greatly..lol...we had a crap load of snow

but also, another reason i like it, it just makes me feel more secure driving down some back roads...if anything happens at all that i may need to swerve off into a ditch, or some kind of emergency situation comes up, all you need to do is pull a lever back, and can go just about any where

and, i dont know how much you are into other outdoor interests such as fishing, hiking, camping, target shooting, but i LOVE all that stuff, and with a 4X4, you can get much farther into the woods, forest, then if you had a 2WD, well as long as its legal......for example, theres a place here thats legel to go fishing on a river, didnt use to be legal but now is, but, to get to the best fishing spot, where it quieter, less distractions, things like that, you need to have a decent 4WD to get back there...theres no way in hell you're getting back there in a 2WD

any ways, thats just food for thought

Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
