Anyone else "space out" while driving?

I dunno if anyone else notices this.

But often times when I'm driving I space out and not realize it.

Like driving home tonight last thing I remember is turning onto the highway tward the house, which is about 10 miles from home.

Next thing I know I'm pulling onto my driveway.

Its kinda trippy and scary all at the same time....so am I just crazy (of course I am) or do other people do this too?

Are you getting enough sleep at night? It seems like the lack of concentration may be attributed to lack of sleep.

I do that too. My focus fades and it's like I'm driving subconsciously. It's not good, I can usually snap myself out of it within a few minutes, though.

I get plenty of sleep, things do seem to weigh heavy on my mind and I think about alot all the time.

I do it on about anything....like today I dug a ditch without realizing it, I got going and spaced out and just did.

I catch myself looking in the mirror after going through an intersection to see if the other cars that were behind me are moving, then I know I didn't just run a red light.

On my way back from trips, I do it all the time. Have the cruise set and even though I was driving right, I honestly don't remember miles upon miles.

I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I know that I'm not driving BAD when I'm driving as its an adventure driving my jeep anywhere.

I have cruse, but I dont use it....and I drive a 5 speed, so I have to subconsciously drive, shift gears, throttle and brake.

Its almost like my brain only pays attention to the moment that I'm in, and after that moment is gone it doesn't hold onto the memory of that moment.

I guess tho asking a mental health question on a jeep forum is not the best idea.....we are the people who take a jeep that gets 15mpg and make it get 10mpg because its an "upgrade" lol

Based on my observations, you're not alone, I would say roughly 70-80% of the population of Los Angeles is asleep at the wheel at any given moment.

The only time they seem to be awake is when it's raining, when they're so terrified they're even less predictable than usual.

Due to lack of interest, tomorrow has been canceled

It is really trippy though, but I have never once had a close call while doing it. So I guess it good, and when I do snap out of it I am going the speed limit and driving perfect. lol

I do this too. Sometimes I think I'm in some other universe where I'm doing things opposite of what's actually right. Just need to double check every now and then.

I hate the ones where you get to an intersection and look up and its yellow. Then you are like ah **** how long was it yellow for? Should I slam on my brakes or just go through?
