anyone in a band?

im realyl into music...i like most kinds...i play the drums and i used to play the alto sax in high school and i play a littel guitar...and i mean a little...just somethign to mess around with when im foolin around with fruity loops...almost played with some band i met at lentines..but they were way better than me and ready to go on tour around now...so i decided it would be in our best interest if they found someone else...i could have learnd all the sogns with out a problem..i learnd one of them in two days and i was working on the second but they told me what they were lookin for someone better...well after i asked if they wanted someone better? honesty is the best policy in my book. anyway just wonderin if anyone else has music as a hobby or interest too?

Used to play bass for about 10 years ... never really that great though. We had a garage band that played for friends & such... but mostly we just aggravated the neighbors

I used to sing with a band in HighSchool.. Mostly real gay stuff..
You know like The Smiths and The Cure.. But thats what the girlies liked back then, and when you are in High School that is all
that matters..I play a little gitbox.. I have a fender Strat and an
Ibanez acoustic electric..

I used to bang on Tupperware bowls when I was younger…. As my talent progressed (my ability to annoy my parents) I attempted to move on to bigger and better salad bowls, but even with my new selection of dishes I was never able to get a record producer to look my way.

Carl, I can NOT see you singing that genre of music!

Hey Doc, check out this site http://www.nojazzfest.com/

I know Weird isnt it... I actually like the smiths and I still listen to them on occasion..
You know when I feel like hearing music that will make me want to kill my self..LOL..

But like I said . .I would have sang anything to make the girlies love me.... (Except country)
A little later on the guys I used to sing with started singing hair band music..(Motley Crue, Def Leppard) and I sci-daddled .. There are limits to what a man will do.. I will wear black clothes and moan like I am in pain.. BUt I will not wear tight pants and jump around like a sissy while I scream...LMAO...

yea i'm the lead singer in a hard-rock band... if you wanna check us out go to www.garageband.com/thirteenways.

you can download our song perception, but be warned, the only thing finished is the drums and bass... the vocals and guitar are there, but they are just the scratch tracks. our drummers dad own's a recording studio up in Toronto, and we went there last year and recorded 4 songs in 1 night. it was alot of fun and i think it turned out okay... let me know what you think.

yeah, I marched in the drumline in HS, went on to master the bass and guitar (..ahem)! Played in some cool garage bands and stuff.

Now I just doodle on the Alvarez acoustic when really drunk or otherwise displaced.

I am currently in a Prog-rock band, just three piece instrumental, guitar, drums, and me on bass. Influences include Rush, Dream Theater, and some jazz and blues here and there. I have a '95 Fender Jazz w/ DiMarzio DP149 Ultra Jazz p/u's and a BadAss bridge, a 2001 Spector NS5CR and a cheap Yamaha fretless. Just came back from the rehearsal studio and played through our 4-song set for the first time, captured it on the 16-track, and clocked it at 37min!. We have a 2 song demo which we recorded last summer, but we never copyrighted it so we never did anything with it. But this summer we are probably going to re-record those 2 songs and put the 2 new ones in there as well. Looking also start gigging out in the summer. I've played piano since i was like 5, played trumpet since 4th grade, and now been playing bass for 7.5 years.

I know its difficult to have a drumkit in your dorm/apartment, but man you make time for music. If it really means that much to you, than go with it. I work full time and attend college at night, my guitarist has 3 jobs and school, and my drummer works and goes to college, yet we still find time. There are no excuses in my book for not playing, which is why i constantly am kicking myself. Keep it up man.

Me and some Jeep buddies play at our church sometimes. I play guitar and sing, but I'm still working on the guitar.

I played guitar in High School (1979-1982) and then quit for a little while- started a few years later and played until 1999 with a Band- did a few bar gigs and had a studio- I moved in 1999 to where I'm at now and didn't have the time to do it anymore. So now I have 6 guitars- a marshall and lots of pedals sitting around in my house unused- I will break them out now and then and destroy the silence. I was big into the 80's heavy metal- Judas Priest, Maiden, BOC, Sabbath, Metallica, type stuff.

I miss the playing in the band stuff and the parties and the police busts and the great times but wtf. you can have it forever.

So now Jeeps fill my time.

I was for most of my highschool years. I lead the drum line and I've got a awesome 12pc Pearl Rack Set. I loved it. Now it is collecting dust...havent played it in almost 3 years. We mostly did covers of Nirvana, Green Day, ect..... Buying a house and owning a business leaves little time for fun, so my Jeep takes most of it.
