Anybody have a good recipe they are willing to share?

I'm stuck in a rut making a lot of the same stuff week after week.

Any of you have any good recipes you would like to pass along?

Here is one of mine...simple, and IMO, pretty damn good.

We call them pastys (not to be confused with what strippers wear)
They are our Polish family's variation of the traditional shephard's pie.

Preheat oven to 350

Buy some pillsbury pie crust dough (they come in long skinny rectangular red box, rolled up, not the ones in a pan) unless you wish to make your own crust.

Remove the pie crust, should be two to a box. Cut the crust in two, stright down the middle so you have two half circles.

Chop up carrots, russet potatos, rutabaga, (pretty finely chopped, the beef should be the largest chunks) and stew beef. The stew beef can be bought in the meat section of the grocery and should already be properly cut.

Throw the vegetables and beef all in bowl together and season as you please. I use garlic salt, ground peppercorn, and montreal steak seasoning.

Load the seasoned veggies/beef onto a half of each of the half-circle dough slices, fold the other half over top, and crimp the edges together. Poke the top 3-5 times a fork.

Place tin-foil on a cookie sheet (easier clean-up) and very lightly spray with pam or any non-stick spray.

Stick in the oven for about 45-55 minutes (they are done when the top of the pasty is pale-golden brown, and the edges are only a hair darker than the top). Take out an let cool for 7-10 minutes depending upon your tolerance to heat.

Most of our family eats them with ketchup (if you're a ketchup hater, just give it a try...it is very good). They have become a hit at my dealership, every time I make them I make waaaay more than I need because they are as good reheated, and I hate reheated food.

What do you guys have?

Do you reheat the pizza? If yes, prior to the smearing of the peanut butter or following?

Edit: just saw the capitalized COLD

Here's a couple unique but simple ones that I love (thanks, mom and grandma)...

Spinach Braid:
Mix 1 pack cooked spinach, 1 cup ricotta cheese and 1 cup of parmesan cheese. Get a thing of crescent rolls (the ones that come in a tube that you pop open) and unroll the whole thing and crimp the seams to make one rectangular sheet of it. Now make a log type thing by laying the spinach mixture down the middle of the crescent roll dough, top with a few slices of ham and swiss cheese and then make slices about every inch in the sides of the dough so you can fold the flaps over the top and it ends up looking braided. Cook at 350F for 20 minutes or so, until its golden brown.

Casserole:
Mix 1/2lb (it comes in 1lb boxes) cooked elbow macaroni, 1lb cooked ground beef, 1 sauteed onion, 1 can tomato soup and 1 can tomato sauce. Put the mixture in a casserole dish with one layer of american cheese in the middle and one on top. Top that off with a layer of buttered bread, cut into inch or so squares. Cover with foil so the bread doesn't burn and cook at 350F for 45 minutes. I love the bread in this one, so I'll use a large baking dish and make a thin casserole with plenty of surface area for bread!

Get some bow tie pasta, Alfredo, pre-cooked/chopped chicken (comes in little pouches) and sun dried tomatoes. Cook the pasta, then mix all together and heat. Simple but tastes GREAT!

Here is one of mine...simple, and IMO, pretty damn good.

We call them pastys (not to be confused with what strippers wear)
They are our Polish family's variation of the traditional shephard's pie.
Your Polish family version is actually a renaming of the traditional Cornish pasty. Miners would take them down and be able to eat them by holding the braided/crimped crust, so the rest of the crust did not get dirty. For an added twist, sometimes the bottom is crimped off a bit and a dessert of fruit fills the pastry to act like a pie.

College-afied Beans and Rice recipe:
1 can black beans (undrained)
1 can stewed tomatoes (undrained)
one onion, diced
one bell pepper, chopped
one and one half cups uncooked instant brown rice
oil
one pound ground beef
one cube garlic, minced
cumin or whatever spices you think would be awesome

In a large pot brown the beef, then add the onion and bell pepper and cook until softened but not soft.
Add garlic, can of beans, can of tomatoes and spices. Bring to boil then add the rice. You might want to add a bit of water, but no more than half a cup.
Return to boil, then simmer until the rice is cooked (follow directions on the rice package).
It should be goopy, but not liquidy.
Serve up in a bowl, or on a tortilla. Add salsa, hot sauce, cheese, cilantro, sour cream, whatever strikes your fancy/is in the fridge.
Enjoy only having the one pot to clean up.
