Any wine experts out there?
I'm going to a wedding in Orlando Friday and I want to buy the couple a decent bottle of wine that costs no more than $50. Any ideas?

Riesling
If a bottle of any wine costs more than $20 you are getting ripped off!

Not really....
I bought a $27 bottle of La Fantasia sparkling wine. It is worth every red cent. It's the best wine I've ever drank. We also bought a $27 bottle of Pinot Grigio that is well worth its cost.
The thing is, we bought these wines at the winery, because you can't buy them in any store. Even though there's definitely a mark-up because you can't buy them elsewhere, it was still worth the money!

Vigneti Zanata in Duncan (Vancouver Island) BC?
We purchased a CASE of their Fantasia, and Ortega while we were there last summer. Some of the best wine we've had!

Depends on your taste in wines.
Sweet or Dry?
The wife and I started out with Sweet Whites, moved to Reds and our taste is now going towards the dryer side of semi sweet. Can't do dry's, I don't like the feeling of sticking a napkin in my mouth. LOL
Egri Merlot - Semi sweet about $12-13 is always well liked by non-drinkers.
We have found a south African Sweet Red from Robertsons Wineries , it was at the check out of a local market for $6.00 so we figured Why not try it? We now grab a bottle anytime we are there. Nice, not overly sweet. Full of flavor, very drinkable. Can't go wrong for the price.

Not sure if you'll get much in the states, but...
Inniskillin - Anything from their "Single Vineyard" Series (particularly their Pinot Noir, or Pinot Blanc) is fantastic.
Quail's Gate - Old Vines Foch is VERY good with a big peice of red meat (Old Vines Foch and rack of Lamb )
Mission Hill Pinot Gris, Pinot Grisio, or Pinot Blanc are very good as well.
Sorry - But I've got to represent Canada here.

Actually, I bought mine at Castello di Amorosa in Calistoga, CA a couple weekends ago. Here's a picture of the winery:

Personally, I'm still a huge Chianti fan. I spent a month in Tuscany (Florence) and learned an appreciation for wine there.
