Any one ever used this company before?

I went to order a torque converter for my 97 TJ from RECON and they wanted $95 for the torque converter and $275 to ship it to Japan. I told the guy that he was ripping off a Military member to try even chargeing that much and that I was going to give him some free advertisment for his service. Am I wrong for this?

97 TJ, 2.5, Auto, 33x9.50/15 on MT's, WARN front and rear bumpers, Best Top tinted top, Pioneer Stereo, 4 4.25" Kenwood speakers, D30HP and D35 with 4.56 gears, 3.5 Skyjacker lift

How do his prices compare with other suppliers? Wouldn't the answer to that question answer yours?

Did you try anywhere else to compare pricing? I sure dont know about overseas shipping but many companys and sellers on e-bay wont even ship overseas because they say it is such a pain in the arse and expensive

If you could find out what it really is to ship from the US to you, you could always get someone in the states to have it shipped to them and then have them ship it to you.

I'd be willing to help if I could be of any use.

Fed-x international economy rate from VT to Japan for a 70lb package is $475.00.

I'd say he's probably not trying to rip you off, just covering his expenses.

You can go on the UPS or Fed-x website and get quotes from them.
