Any Beach Drivers Out There?

Hey,

I read and see a lot of threads about guys rock climbing and whatnot.

I live in Virginia Beach and although I do make a trip to the moutains every once in a while for some trail rides...most of my off-roading is done on sand in the outer banks of NC. Anybody else out there enjoy being out on sand? And I do have to say...my TJ with M/T's floats on sand...I just glide past most trucks and suv's when i see them.

Take a look:-) and feel free to post some good beach pics.

These are done in the winter pre-mods...so the top was up and the doors were on.

If you think they do good with MTs, try some AT's or Parnelli Jones Dirt Grips

Btw dont get too close to the water, I once saw a video of a YJ getting washed out to sea because they tried to drive through the shallow part of the water without airing down (wouldnt do it aired down either, that salt water will eat your Jeep)

Here's where I go -- on the SW coast of Washington along the Pacific. No action shots yet but I'll get some this summer when I have a passenger to take the pics.

Ocracoke was nice ... great feeling of floating on the sand ... not to deathmarch with various beach articles was something that I wanted to experience at least once in my life

With the Grand Cherokee ... that was luxury!!

I drove on the beach of Lake Michigan once ,just a hair east of the Indiana dunes..but it wasn't legal. Found a way to do it though, late at night! The beach was frozen so my Cooper Discoverer A/T's didn't get stuck. Flame away for illegal wheeling..don't worry, no one got hurt, and I would have taken my lumps..except for the fact there were other trucks there as well.

Im not gonna scream at ya, just dont do it again. I spend many days a year maintaining the local beaches here in delaware with a local group because of people abusing the beaches and driving where they shouldn't.. Don't make some volunteers life harder than it is.
