Amazing Race Fans...

I know a few of you watch the Amazing Race so I wanted to let you know that the new season starts this Sunday! To the rest of you, move along, there is nothing to see here.

My wife got me hooked on this show a few years ago. I was looking just last month to see when the new season would start and I couldn't find info on it. Then all of a sudden here it is. Talk about bad advertising! For an Emmy award winning show you think they would promote it a little more.

Anyhoo, enjoy.

One of the very few network shows I watch.

It does make me cringe when the people act like stereotypical "ugly americans". But then karma comes around and they usually end up putting regular gas in a diesel car.

We love this show, if not for the people then for the locales around the world. Each season we pick a team to root for and see if one of them wins. I usually go for the strangest couple, but I couldn't bring myself to root for the goth pair, so the hippies are my choice. My wife picked the brother/sister who ended up first.

Yes, we are less fun than Dawn (you Sacramento folks will get it).

Ugh...the premier had a few good moments, but once again, they spent a huge amount of time showing folks scrambling for flights. I hate that! Just stick folks on flights and let them race where it counts, not at the airport! At a minimum, don't spend so much camera time there. We've all scrambled for flights in our lives...we get it!

My only complaint is that they once again have tried too hard to be all-inclusive with their contestant mix. I'm no homophobe, and I'd like to watch this show with my young kids (it's promoted as a family show), but I really don't want to have to explain what "married lesbian ministers" are.

This year it's the Amazing Dating Game Race. Nothing like taking a shaky relationship and adding massive amounts of stress.

And the brother and sister are a liiiiiiittle bit to close....

That's what I was thinking too! When they showed them wrestling around on the ground during the intro piece, I thought it seemed very strange. Then, virtually every time they're shown together, they're touching each other somehow. Close family, I guess!

I'm pulling for the father/daughter combination. Their perspective seems the most positive.

My wife started to get me to watch the show with her last night. Looks like a good show. I'm happy with the first couple out.

I also noticed that the brother and sister are a little too close...

Would it be in bad taste if I root for them to win, just so we can see if they kiss

It is the only reality show I watch. I love to see the different countries.

Just adds to the list of places to visit! and hopefully pushes some other Americans to travel more!

Those donkeys were funny as hell. I think they could sense the bitter evil in both those teams.

My wife and I always pick our teams based on where your teams placed the previous season. I got the hippy team as my #1 pick and the brother sister team as my #2 so I'm feeling pretty good about it right now. The team that was booted was my wifes #3 team. Now I'm feeling real good.
